We asked the same question when at Solihull. They confirmed that all UK spec vehicles have full air suspension which is better than that fitted to D4's with more articulation and movement. they confirmed that the videos and promo stuff covers all markets and hence the pictures with coilsMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Have you been and looked at a D5 in the flesh? I cannot see any reason why you could not do exactly the same in a D5. Only down side for me is the stupid little flap/seat at the back. i can see that being a pain in the A and getting removed very quickly.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I was under the impression that it was illegal to leave a vehicle running without the person in charge being in control of the vehicle.
The same reason turbo timers were always disabled in cars brought to this country.
Maybe there is a different aspect of law with the new system but i am not aware of it.

Apparently that is the option to instal a FBH as in D4's currently.
The other option is I believe a no cost option fitted as standard to some vehicles and an option for others. This method does not use a FBH nut the main engine is started remotely whilst the vehicle is locked, apparently this is already available on EvouqesMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Yes I have and it doesn't work for me or the equipment I need to carry. If you need four seats, the usable space for luggage is significantly reduced simply because almost every angle is curved. On top of that the very large tailgate hits the roof of my garage. Also don't get me started on the silly ledge I'm supposed to think replaces my split tailgate / kit preparation area!
I was angry and moaned for a while, but I'm over that now. I'm sure they'll sell loads initially but when you add up some reasonable options on top of a v6 engine (single turbo), it's a lot of money for a car I don't like that much. There's a lot of competition in that price bracket.
When LR announced the re-branding of the three marques: Range Rover, Discovery and Defender, I was optimistic about their future and I think it was an idea we could all understand. Now that the Discovery is in effect a large Range Rover, the branding has all gone a bit pete tong.

^^I agree, but remember that this is LR's attack on the X5 market in which it has been totally out-sold. My hope is that the Defender replacement will be pitched more at those of us you need the pure kit carrying / towing / off-roading capability, leaving the Discovery for the more lucrative 'leisure' market. That's the hope, anyway. In the meantime, I'll get a D4 run-out model.Andrew

I agree the D5 is now basically a RRS/FFRR with a different body on. The high Spec D5 is in FFRR territory, however the FFRR is going up market so there will be a void to fill. JLR appear to be slotting the high spec D5 into this slot.
There are supposed to be three of each vehicle with different spec options:-
Range Rover:- has FFRR, RRS and Evoque all with different trim options.
Discovery:- currently has Sport and high spec D5, so whats the 3rd going to be? the only option left to fill is a more utility version?
Defender:- will have 90, 110, 130 equivalents with 3 spec levels for each vehicle.
So in theory you could buy a high spec 110 that would be better equipped that a low spec Discovery utility.
This is how I see it from reading comments from JLR, clearly I could be wrong.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Dealer has promised to send me the height of the opening when he gets hold of it, it is less he says and not a published figure. Im more interested in it for the dogs however washing machines standing up will still be handy. Hope it passes the full size sofa test as the d4 does MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten
