PARROT 3200 INSTALLATION EXPERIANCE. |
|
Hi All
Just a few words for anyone trying to fit a Parrot 3200 +. After trying to find a post, for help, I was getting confused so I will try to tell of my experience.
Got the Parrot 3200. Purchased the cable Autoleads 06-124b an Autoleads 06-426b.
Firstly the cable 06-124b, you don’t use half of it. The Only part you use is the Yellow mute cable, the black {phone audio – ve} cable and the black/white {phone audio+ve}. This part of the cable comes taped together with the audio jack. Disregard the rest of the 06-124b. I fitted the whole 06-124b cable and it worked, BUT it seemed to interfere with the radio reception, which went back to normal when cable was removed. SO DONT USE IT, SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF GRIEF.
Connect these 3 cables to the accessory plug in the back of Disco radio, that’s the middle plug with 12 pins. Remove plug from radio and connect cables as follows.
Looking at plug from back with the release clip at top.
The yellow mute cable goes into the bottom row, pin number 10, that is the fourth square from the left. The yellow mute cable seems to have a small connection covered with a rubber sleeve, this connection seems to stop it from working, so I cut this connection out and it worked.
The black/white audio + cable connects into top row second from right.
The Black audio – cable connects into top row third from left.
The jack connector connects into the jack receiver connection on the cable 06-426b
That’s all the connections needed to the radio, replace plug.
Now cable Autoleads 06-426b.
Cut of small black 4 pine plug.
Connect red cable to permanent live, I found the easiest place was internal fuse board.
Connect blue cable to Ignition live, back of cigarette lighter as usual.
Connect black cable to ground. I found the easiest for me was the hex screws at back of radio.
Connect Yellow cable to mute cable that you fixed to radio.
Fit connector to Parrot, fit screen wire and thats it . IT WORKED, FINELY
I hope I explained this process clearly, and it can be of some help.

Hi...sounds quite straight forward, do you have harmon kardon logic 7 with amp? im told its not so straight forward if you do. Ive been trying to figure out weather the auto leads will work with my HSE before i spend my dosh as they are quite expensive! is the bluetooth LR kit a better option?

Hi Dukes
I have the Harmon kardon, But it is the exactly the same. The only connections to the radio are through the accessary plug as I explained. The call comes through the same right hand speaker as the Sat nav. Also radio goes into phone mod eg: phone is displayed on radio display and call volume can be controlled with steering wheel volume controles.
Hope this helps Dukes.
PS remember to waite for car to go into sleep mod before working with radio. Also look around the internet for leads with the same number, I found them for half the price after I bought the Autoleads one's.

hi just a quick question. is it possible to connect the 3200 directly to the harman kardon radio system without the SOT leads. like the 06-426b i don't see any reason why you need this lead. and the the 06-124a come with any special relay or something or can this be hardwired aswell.
EDIT
ok so i did some research. downloaded the 06-124a manual. looks like thats the only lead you need since it has a in-line transformer which isolates the audio circuit to prevent damage to the headunit. otherwise you can just hardwire the rest of wires without the need of a 06-426b lead.[/u]
EDIT 2
is the 06-426b lead the one that is included with the ck3200 model? haha getting super confused. Land Rover LR3 SE v4.0
