why not use the bigger fuel burning heater that does a reasonable job , 20 mins before you need to go to work, making sure you have the cctv is watching for un-friendly people in the interim, or a long piece of string with a bell attached at one end and tried to the bumper at the other ..

Spoke to Webasto, awaiting a call back from their technical engineer about what you can and can't do with the timer.

Does everyone here not think the D3 warms up plenty fast already with the FBH ?
By the time I'm .5 miles down the road the vents move and warm air starts to get in...

Some of us Northern'rs regularly need to clear the windscreen of ice before we drive for .5 miles......... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

So switch on your heated windscreen JMC... takes less than a minute to be clearable by a wiper sweep...
You need to spend some time where it's really cold. Damn southern softies I'm not talking about a slight ground frost. It takes more than a minute to clear when the minus goes to double figures and the plastic scraper breaks on the ice....... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Some of us southerners are able to afford to live in the desirable south, run a D3 and have the odd skiing holiday where your cold would be considered a tepid spring day.
So there. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Or you take your mobile phone out your pocket and the face cracks with the cold, That was on the hill with the telephone masts above Dyce a few years ago.
The ink in my pen froze as I tried to do a survey of the buildings there and the owners got their Disco2 stuck on the way up the hill
