Countrywide, did you JUST disconnect the canbus wires, or the whole multiplug? One of those other wires in the multiplug drives the fuel pump - no fuel, no burn...

I left pin 2 (to timer) and pin 5 (fuel pump) in the connector. There is no way to fire it up if you remove the whole connector. It tried to fire up, i.e the fan started but after 30 seconds it shut down. I tried putting one of the CAN wires back, but again it tried to fire but wouldn't. As soon as I put both CAN wires back in, it worked.

No idea why it is waiting for a CAN signal when the car is in sleep mode, but 10forcash who knows his stuff says the CANbus is active even in sleep mode so it could be a safety feature.

Yes he does doesn't he Very Happy My guess is that it gets a message every x seconds or so from the SRS system to say that the car hasn't crashed and that it's therefore safe to have a controlled mini bonfire going under the bonnet.

Thanks Countrywide, I purchased the kit fitted it all works fine, but like yours as soon as I open the car the FBH stops, I am working on a remote kit from CPC and a relay which simulates the pushing if the flame button, with out opening the car up, I have also moded the timer so I could mount it next to the rear view mirror on the glass, Looks better than on the light, once I have tested the remote kit I'll post details.

Did someone note that the unused pin out on the timer is a 12v out ? if so I miight be able to use this to see when the timer is in operation (from the kitchen window via an led). Note sure can someone let me know
