If its an OTR price, that would include VED.
I take it from the figure that the,
2Lt, first year £800, then year 2 to 5 would be £450 a year, after that drops to £140.
3Lt, first year £1200, then as above.
unless I am missing something? thing is the Government can and probably will change it and they only know one way - UP.

It's being coming for years as most cars emissions are getting less each year so less cash for goverment to crew us so only way is premium tax on 1st ownership...even 0 emissions will suffer the same fate.

I asked my dealer if LR will swallow the first year VED increase for vehicles delivered after 1 Apr. A swift "No" was the reply so the final invoice price will include the new rate. That seems to make LR's price list out of date as any vehicles ordered now will be delivered after 1 Apr 17.

New vehicles that cost more than £40,000
The first time you tax a vehicle on or after 1 April 2017 with a list price (the published price before any discounts) of more than £40,000, you’ll pay the rate based on CO2 emissions.
Check the list price with your dealer so you know how much vehicle tax you’ll have to pay.
After the first 12 months, you’ll pay a rate based on the fuel the vehicle uses and an additional rate of £310 a year for the next 5 years.
Fuel type Standard annual rate Additional rate Total annual payment
Electric £0 £310 £310
Alternative £130 £310 £440
Petrol or diesel £140 £310 £450
After 5 years, you’ll pay the standard annual rate depending on what fuel your vehicle uses. Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
