Virgin f_in media
Our current broadband contract term is coming to an end, so on Monday did a bit of surfing to see what other deals/packages might be about ( I just want broadband and landline calls inc). For pretty much all suppliers you have to put in your address and landline number so that they can see what’s available at your gaff, ok I get that.
Then today a guy from virgin is knocking on our door to “discuss” their package with us - no your not, off, I didn’t ask you to call/visit.

Al, that reminds me of a few years ago when SWMBO talked to someone about swapping our domestic gas supply. Agreed to have some info sent through. Next thing we know, they'd done the deed and swapped us. We never agreed to it, nothing signed by us, etc. For 18 months we got sent gas bills and for 18 months we told them to FO. Eventually they did, wrote off the bills and transferred us back. So free gas for 18 months. Result, but hard work fighting them.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I can cut people some slack on that one. While there is a chance they were just being a self important prick, they may also have just had a call telling them a loved one was about to die. Reason goes out of the window at times like that.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Lazy
Like that round here
You pull your keys out of your pocket and something else goes on the floor you don't notice and you can get an instant £60 fine.
The binmen go round leaving stuff all over the road and nothing is done!

I think a lot of the road side rubbish is from bin trucks. If you follow one on recycling day you'll see lightweight bits of plastic wrapping flying out as they drive.
Not all road side rubbish if from bin trucks though, a good proportion is from dirty who can't be to take it home and put it in a bin Richard

In which case, do what others do and park in service roads. I did think of it, but didn't see anyone moving quickly on foot from that part of the carpark..

Have to agree, the A13 around Dagenham is a tip on the side of the road, following the trucks that take the waste away, not the actual bin lorries, but the articulated tippers, it blows off the top, they have mesh gates on the top but the paper still blows out as 5hey are usually bent.
Being involved in transport it’s sad to say a lot of the rubbish seen on the sides of the road is from trucks, cling film in particular, loads wrapped in cling film but then just strapped on with ratchet straps but the cling film unravels at speed, looks like the train on a wedding dress behind them. One particular company from near Warwick, make window frames, often seen along the M40 in a morning with cling film trailing off the back, should be netted at the very least.

Neighbours!
My two story house is good 50 yards away from my neighbours bungalow. Yesterday afternoon I looking out of an upstairs bedroom window, it was a nice afternoon and the view was great. The neighbour and his girlfriend were sitting on their patio, they spotted me and the two of them turned their heads 45 degrees and starred at me for 5 minuets. I caught their gaze out of my peripheral vision. Eventually, the two of them then stormed into their house.
I just carried on doing what I was doing. My point is it’s my window and if I want to look out of it, then why shouldn’t I or do I think, oh the neighbours are out, I’d better not just in case I upset them.
I had a similar problem a few years back, where the guys son, now thankfully gone, likewise starred at me and shouted, nothing on TV then followed by expletives. I just ignored it.
Although neighbours, we haven’t spoken to each other for at least 10 years. We are far enough apart that that aspect doesn’t matter.
I won’t aggravate the guy, but I just don’t see where the problem is. The only way to keep him happy is to not look out of the window or board it up!
