Changed mine as one of those items to tick off after buying the car.
LR charges an hour for the job so for £99 it was a bargain.
Dealer was happy to accept the plugs provided, which I bought from AF. Told them not to bother washing "Ollie" as I was feeling a bit guilty. (Gave "Ollie" a health check as well!)
Remap..... . Power does corrupt!

I contacted Alive.
No data available for the remap. To be honest we haven't had a V8 on the rolling road. It would be good to put yours on a dyno and do before and after runs. (We would do this for £60 +VAT)
How did you develop the remap then? We've developed the tune in conjunction with a dealer in Australia.
To be fair to Alive, they did say
"I understand your concern about the price. If you get the remap and you aren’t happy with the results, I can guarantee you that we can put it back to how it was and you won’t have to pay us anything. We aim to keep the customer as happy as possible."
Anyone want to go first!

I still don't see the point in a remap. I have a v8 burbling cruising machine. It's not a quick car, never will be and I rarely use more that half throttle.
£400 to eek out what, maybe another 30hp, it's not like cranking up the turbo pressure or putting in new fast cams.

A bit more grunt low down for V8 burbbbbbblinnnnng !
Not interesting in top end either and I've told Alive its not a power thing as the V8 has plenty.

Your not going to get massive power gains out of a normally aspirated remap.
Most modern cars are detuned so they will run on any fuel and in any conditions....
The remap merely increases the efficiency of the engine and optimises the engine setting, I.e. It does what we used to do with a screw driver and a strobe light on old carb fed engines with dizzy's and points......
My v8 runs cooler, quieter and is better on fuel, it is running more efficiently and feels better to drive. It's not about power gains, it's about optimising the engine so it runs better.
My v8 disco does about 25/30k mikes a year. I am getting 30+ miles to a gallon with it sat on the motorway. Not sure the diesels are much better than that?

Even with my best granny driving I have never seen much above 20 on petrol, 30plus even with a remap I find a bit unbelievable, that's better than most get on their diesels. And its cheaper over the long term than LPG. I'd have the LPG gone in shot if it could be proved a even 25mpg average was achievable.==================================
