Just lately th efront wipers seem tp be a bit reluctant to get going, if the screen is only a bit damp they juddr across and sometimes stop mid way across the screen, flicking the wiper stalk of and on starts them moving again for the first wipe or two. If its properly wet they work fine. I replaced the wiper blades and holder fo rnew decent quality ones, no different.
Just wondering is it likely a failing motor or is it some sort of lubrication needed for the mechanism?

Very similar symptoms i had when my wiper motor failed. If it is the motor, they will stop more and more often.
They juddered at first and i thought that the wiper arms needed bending again like we had to do when the D3 first came out.
Presumably a wet screen provides some lubrication and reduces the strain on the motor?
