A 4m and a 9m does it for me. Bobby ask Alan what lengths work out the cheapest. It may be that 5m and/or 8m ones work out cheaper. I also have 2m lengths but rarely use them.
And what is the legal maximum for road use - in case you need to rescue a poor 2 wheeler or not quite a LR style 4x4 ?
OK, I've had a chat with the folks at Lifting and Crane, and I've secured the same deal that AndrewS got last time, namely we get the same price as LRE pays. For the specific items that this group buy was about, that means:
5m rope with 2x EKN hook - £39.94 + VAT = £46.93
10m rope with 2x EKN hook - £42.00 + VAT = £49.35
You'll spot that the prices are similar - most of the cost is in the hook and the manufacture.
I don't think there's anything stopping us asking for different length ropes or other things too - for example I'm going to be adding a couple of sleeved tree strops to my order.
The major saving in this group buy is going to be on delivery. I'm planning to collect everything in one shot and distribute through the D3 network. The promise of a contribution to the disco3.co.uk site running costs is all I ask in return for my efforts.
I've updated the signup options - please can you change your sign up accordingly. Signing up now means that you are committed to buying.
