My oil pump is going to be changed tomorrow.........
lets hope i make it to the Indie........
If yours is a 2005, you should be ok, although having a new pump fitted is always beneficial as the miles climb.
I wasn't prepared to take the gamble, she is due a new timing belt in two years I thought I would just bring it forward. At the moment I can't afford to wright-off the D3 at the moment.
I also guessed the engine may appreciate a new oil pump as the current one has done 90K miles although I know lots of them have done many more miles than this.....

Thanks for the feedback , they have quote 3k for an engine rebuild?
We have just had it fully serviced and put x 3 new tyres on, what is the going rate for parts / scrap for an 07.

Oil pump changed, it was the weaker one, another bullet dodged.....
Happy to have had it changed......
I must take note if the oil light goes off any quicker..... Also happy to have a new oil seal in after 90k miles.....
Now just the heater plugs to do.......

Hi markthegad
I didn't change the pump, my Indi did it (I don't have the time or the locking tools to do it), also I was happy to give it to him to do.
I don't know the cost of the pump, he fitted a genuine one (whatever this is)? Unfortunately he will only fit genuine parts, but he is very good at his job, and as it's quite important that it doesn't fail I don't mind paying a bit more for it.
New one:-
When I get the bill I will let you know.
I would get the ones from Advanced Factors as at £150 is a fair enough price.......
I was pleased to get it done and interested that it had the weaker unit that I was replacing (it wasn't a waste of time).
Good luck with whatever you decide
Best wishes
mallo
