I believe it was an option - even on HSE's
I seem to recall there is a part that seems to distinguish this easily.
Same here - Its rare in my off road & towing antics I've had to get to modes with standard fit diff looking.
I do switch these in for a few miles every month to ensure they are used.
I've some really large quarry sites to practice this, so plenty of opportunity to find out what they do.BREXIT - done properly.

Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Have 4x4 info screen on and put it in low box & rock crawl then move forward slowly, both padlocks should turn red. Highly unlikely it has a rear locker though, not many ordered with it. Mind you, I don't think I've ever got stuck and a car with a rear locker has gotten through.
The eDiff has what looks like a wiper motor bolted to it, if your rear diff has no wires attached then it's mechanical. You should also have another ecu looking similar to the transfer case module but situated in the rear corner of the load area.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8
