Interestingly, Drive the Deal have a 10.5% discount on the D5 which is surprising given how new the model is (RRS is 7.5%). I doubt that's a reflection on the quality of the vehicle, just how over priced it is.

No doubt. But LR must be doing a deal to shift them. I've used DtD a few times, and their deals usually coincide with dealers being more willing. I've also used their deals to get a dealer to match the price (but that was a Honda).
Point is, is that I don't think you could get a penny off a RRS for at least 2 years after launch because of the waiting list. But then maybe the D5 is more niche/has more competition and they've always had to fight more for the market in that sector.
