The orange version is definitely DS but grey is D5 - it does say 2 versions so I'm guessing DS and D5

In the articles it says they are using the Land Rove's as test mules for the new models.

They will not look like a DS or D5 if you look at the mock up photo's.

Platform sharing quite common in the industry, look at VW/Seat/Skoda, PSA/MMC/Fiat, GM/Renault/Nissan, Toyota/PSA to name but a few.

Devalues JLR? - Depends on what the actual vehicle looks like, not the under pinning.

The video gives little information apart from Project codes and timing, with a lot of supposition.

Time will tell!

Using a 2.0 litre Fiat engine and a Tata badge looking like......what exactly?

All the photos are of an actual Discovery and even the "spy" shots are the same ones we saw of D5's in the UK!!

Time will tell. Thumbs Up

Devalue ?

It's from the same "stable" but a different breed.....four legs, tail head analogy.
Floorpan sharing mega common.

It does the opposite of damaging the "brand" if it gives overall sales volumes on a lower spec cheaper to buy set of vehicles underpinning the prestige ones, let's face it the whole LR offerings are all crowded or crowding towards prestige, luxury = high cost.

The whole point will be where & how it's sold & whether there are clear up front links back to LR.
Separate dealers ?
Same site in a corner ?

Surprised at Fiat engine - but if it's cost effective, suits the places it's to be sold & used, has support there etc etc.
Why not a group made Ingenium ?

Going off at a tangent it worries me far more what & where from the Defender replacement will be as it may be the non D5 route for me to follow.
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
