Another vote for the BOVEE1000 here. Use it every day on my MY10 D4. I have a Pixel 3XL and generally use PocketCasts and Youtube Music app. Works great although it doesn't send the track names or anything to the screen.2010MY Disco 4 HSE in Ipanema Sand over Almond.

if you listen to a lot of music and fed up with dab reception then get the bovee, the best £100 you will spend on your discovery, use radio app on your mobile,i like virgin radio but struggle around here to get it so i use the app, works spot on

Dipping in to an old chat, can I assume that the D4's with the rotary gear knob all have music playback, or do some of the stick shifts also have it?

It's absolutely easy to understand does your D4 has bluetooth music.
If your multimedia screen looks like that (12MY and newer) – you have it because Bluetooth as part of this screen.
Also bluetooth can be disabled in CCF on some S or SE by default but you can activate it in CCF, use SDD or iid tool. So in this case screen will be without Phone section (or without navigation too)
And stick shifts also have that screen with BT music playback, for example, all D4 with 5.0 engine have 6th gearbox with stick shifts (and doest have rotary gear knob).LR4 V8 5.0 HSE Lux
