Does the D4 support Bluetooth music playback?
Morning,
I have a 2009 early D4 - which I have connected my android phone to and use to make calls etc - all works fine.
However is there a way to link the phone to the system to play music via Bluetooth? I have tried via the usb in the glove box and that comes up with a warning message saying it cant connect or is faulty. It works fine via the 3.5mm jack in the back - but could I also stream directly to the head unit via Bluetooth?
Or if not, is there a fix for the USB, or something aftermarket I can buy to enable Bluetooth playback? Ideally where you can still use steering wheel controls.
Sure that SWMBO's MY10 didn't do music via Bluetooth only voice calls. Not sure if a Bluetooth module can be added/updated so you may need to look into a Parrot kitPaul.

For before MY12 you need a widget or use the curly lead. Unfortunately.

Are there any BT widgets on the market that allow you to control the music remotely? As in use the steering wheel controls? Currently got an android (not for long!).

Ah - I see. And do you think I could connect an android lead to it or is it solely for iphones or ios devices?
That may be the best way forwards. Actually no - because it plugs into the ipod plug bit doesn't it so it must just be for apple. That's another nail in the android coffin for me!

For Android, via cable, you will have to use the Aux In with a 3.5mm jack lead. But you won't be able to control tracks << >>
For bluetooth streaming and control, you'll need to buy a Tune2Air adapterD4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Thanks for that James - that's great. I can't seem to find a tune2air adapter for it though - they all seem to be bmw and Audi. But surely if it just goes in a usb any of them will do? Or am I wrong?

Apologies I didn't specify that. I understand you still need to put it on a Land Rover/30 Pin cable - Like Del's 'curly cable' above. It just means you don't have to connect the phone to the cable, and unlike a cheap Bluetooth connection, you still get track skip, track titles, etc.
To be fair, I just use the cable (for Apple). Less faff and it also keeps your phone charged whilst you're streaming from it.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

I went for even simpler route ... 32Gb memory card in a card reader, plugged in usb slot next to the "curly lead slot"..
