Haven’t been on the forum for a while! Very happy v8 owner here. I had previously owned a 2006 v8 D3 but traded it in Feb 17 for a 3.6 TDV8 RR Vogue. Missed the v8 petrol so much that by Nov 17 I had bought a black 05 reg v8 again that I had spotted on eBay!! It’s now at 114,000 miles.. just had gearbox and drivetrain service! Still have the RR but the missus drives it. We rarely see any v8 petrol D3 here in Northern Ireland.
Anyone on here the lucky owner of my old D3 v8..? it was on a Northern Ireland reg.. NKZ6265. I had actually contacted the dealer to buy it back but alas it was long gone!

Its a good thing for me you'all can't get at me.. ..bearer of bad news tends to get shot..
With 'EURO6d' the DPF was introduced for petrol cars... .. DPF-less diesels are banned from a lot of cities in the EU/UK soon..
..next on the list are "gas-guzzlers" due to to huge amount of fines they cough out..
A friend with the EU commission told me they want to ban cars on the base of their metered consumption.
First this will be like 1:3 but by the year it moves up 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7.. so you can count down until
when your V8 will be banned, at least from the continent.
There is no starting date set yet. If the new Italian government does gets out of the EU, we might get
lucky and the whole sherade collapses before 'doomsday' arrives for the V8's..

Not that bothered to be honest Dan, spent enough of my earlier working life driving into London, that now I rarely if ever go near and large town or city centre by car far prefer public transport or Shanks's pony (walking).
Not to happy with Fedex, supposed to deliver the parts for the LPG on a next day service, they didnt, claimed the address is wrong, which it isnt they went to the wrong place! Now looks like I wont get it till Monday, as there is no way to contact them to arrange redelivery.==================================

Going to do the spark plugs on my 84k 06 V8 next week. Any tips gratefully received.
Also need to replace the sway bar bushes, so ditto on that. Local indy wants $115 in labour. Happy to do it myself but if the view is that it's not worth the $115 then very happy to take opinions from those in the know.
An thoughts?
Thanks.PAGODA

Cant think of any issues with plugs, just the usual warning careful not to cross thread them as they go back in.

Had mine done by dealer as part of major service when I first bought it based on age of car. If you have a good set of tools plugs should be easy enough, although a couple are right to get at. I'm sure there is a utube video of them being done by Atlantic British.
Well I have had to do a few small jobs on the V8 over the last few weeks, we have always had a misfire running on petrol (fine on LPG), when it was serviced by our local LPG specialist I asked them to look at it. He suspected the injection module and there are 2 of them (1 for each bank).
He got it working, but strangely when I did a clear fault using my IIT the misfire came back. So I took note of which cylinders were failing and swapped the plugs on said modules. sure enough the misfire moved as well.
Note to people using a Prins kit, the 4 cyc injection modules are no longer made so you have to buy a 6 cyc one. They still work the same. Glad to say it solved our issue and she runs perfectly smooth now.
A few weeks ago we took the truck along the Ridgeway (byway) up near us here in Wiltshire, right at the end there was a bit of low lying water, I went through it slowly and then there was a massive wooosh noise. N/S/F susp lowered. ummmm I limped it home and had a look and sure enough one of the plastic pipe joiners has failed (prev has melted pipe from manifold after a LR Indie routed pipe incorrectly). I replaced with a metal one and all good.... or so I thought !!
N/S/F continued to drop and compressor on a lot more. With me working in Russia at the world cup I didnt have time to look at it until last week. sure enough a pin hole in the airbag. New one ordered from Advance Factors, should be here any day hopefully.
Apart from that, she has been a dream.

Just a heads up for owners in Kent & Sussex. Kent 4x4 breakers in Kent - A20 just past Leeds Castle heading towards Lenham. Looked to have a good stock of used clean parts for D3 and D4.
For those who read my post on my front sunroof self destructing whilst sat on my drive, I visited the people at Kent 4x4 and got a whole new sunroof minus the motor from a 2009 model. Hopefully the glass on that one won't commit hara-kiri any time soon. Perfect condition, clean and a good price.
Just need to install it now
Interesting read on sunroof shattering :https://www.wheels.ca/news/exploding-sunroofs-what-can-cause-it-and-whos-to-blame/

Did you get a MY09 arches or are you reusing arches that have originally been black and then been sandblasted, primered, painted and lacquered?
I’ve been thinking of the same but if using MY09 primered arches it seemed to become quite expensive as there are other pieces than just a pair of front arches and 4 in the back.

I picked up a full set of MY05 arches for £30 from a member then having them primed and sprayed. My arches will then go to someone so we can keep up the cycle.05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey
