Do we have running total?
My local LR service agent in SW London sees only 3-4 per year (from approx 20 decade ago).

After a fair few tanks, I've come to expect between 15-16mpg average. Is this what the rest of you are seeing? I'm mostly town/country lane driving with some motorways.

Would expect a little more. Urban / extra urban and mine is mid 17.
21 to 24mpg on a run. I'm running Duratrac and MPG has dropped slightly

Hmm. Interesting.
Certainly not seeing that sort of return at any point. Any pointers? I'm not expecting a hypermiler, just curious if there's something wrong and I'm seeing less MPG than average?

I'd like to think not, It's just been in with the garage, and replaced rear pads for the MOT just done...
I'll keep investigating

I had to add more coolant today. I got the low coolant warning immediately on start and looked at the expansion bottle. Poured around one liter of 50/50 dexcool into it to get it back to the cold fill level.
So..... where is my coolant going?
- the coolant aināt in the oil since the oil looked good - itās not milky
- it doesnāt seem to be pouring out underneath since there arenāt pink puddles in the snow
- itās not being spewed around the engine compartment so I kind of ruled out the water pump (if it would leak I assume the belts would ādistributeā it widely
- the thermostat (and housing) got recently changed and seem fine
- engine is responsive (pedal to the metal works, doesnt hesitate) and as I wrote the oil looks fine
- it passed emissions testing a few months ago and the fumes out back look just like water vapor - not white nor do they smell sweet
- reasonably sure the tank sensor is fine since the bottle was replaced a few years ago and in any case the warning went away when I added coolant
- if I have a leak itās of the sneaky kind, hoses arenāt obviously split or donāt show ābreathingā and pink color anywhere
- engine temperature gauge is in the centerline but we all know that gauge is made to lie
- IID reports engine temperature fine, viscous fan isnāt running at full rate at idle to cool down the engine either
- I GUESS I could have under filled it previously when replacing the thermostat and had had a big airlock somewhere but we had spent 2-3 hours checking engine temperature and bleeding it and were reasonably confident we did it right
Ideas?
Iāll take a look at the level in the morning first cold and the let it idle and see what happens.

Keep an eye on it.
Mine popped up a low coolant level about 18months ago going down an hill. I put less than a (small) cup full in so bled the system . I didnt think it was that straight forward (from memory) as the header would retain coolant at the top. (Cant fully recall)
I replaced an temp sensor a few years further back and coolant was changed when I bought it back in 2016
Either way its been fine every since

I think I found at least one problem - the clip on the hose that supplies the radiator wasnāt on tight. The way I figure it is that only when the engine is running did it leak. When cold, there wasnāt any leaking. I tightened up the clip and will indeed keep an eye on it....

Sold the D3 V8 for a FF
The fun has moved to a new toy... Really enjoyed the petrol D3, was a lot of fun and my first foray into the large LR space.
Swapped it now though for a FFRR - still a V8, albeit an Oil Burner this time!
Not as capable off road, i have to be more careful where i park it - its more expensive but am confident in the knowledge that its another LR product that i need to throw money at monthly for the sake of fits and giggles.Never trust a skinny chef
