“Excellent...
I have a strange vision of Terryall, licking a strand of seaweed whilst looking into a mug of tea leaves, standing on one leg and only wearing one sock whilst making his divine forecasts....please tell me it’s true! Very Happy ”
Not quite but here’s a photo of me earlier this morning pondering where the next snow flurries if coming from.....

I had to stop watching the BBC news this morning I couldn't stand another superlative such as treacherous, horrendous or appalling being used to describe the road conditions after 1 inch of snow had fallen.

They didn't mention that I just cleared the drive, well the bits I'd drive over, and it started chucking it down with snow again.

Ha ha.... glad to know its not just me that gets really angry when they do that......'Killer snow storms' this morning apparently....
I am genuinely embarrassed when I see how pathetic we are at dealing with 'Winter Weather'....... who would have thought it eh... snow in winter time...... what next...... sun in summertime??

Snowing heavily again now. Oil delivery due today but nothing stops the tankers up here.

Fortunately the local farmers do the road clearing here (under contract to the council) so it gets done properly
Still plenty of minor roads with a foot or so on though

I used my D4 for the first time in snow since I've had it last night (2 1/2 years). I have to say I was disappointed. The going was fine , but the stopping was awful. I took it very easy but on the slightest slope the car wouldn't stop without the wheels locking up. I could feel the ABS kicking in all the time. Believe me I took it very easy I'm talking about stopping from 5-8 mph.
I have to say I felt safer in my RAV4 which I had years ago (full time 4 x 4).
I had it in snow mode and I only have the standard tyres (Scorpion zero) on standard 20" wheels. They have 5mm of tread left (I checked recently) and I checked my pressures two days ago.
I've always felt the brakes were a bit on or off on that car and they really haven't changed since I've had it from new. I understand it's a big weight to stop on a slippery slope, but I was very gentle believe me. I really took the wind out of my sails ! Shame.
Any top tips gratefully received.Gary

Light dusting North of the M4 in Hengoed this morning with plenty of snow flurries. It's that dry round snow that looks as if someone's exploded a bean bag. Even had a "mini drift" up the side of the house.
One of the reservoirs North of Merthyr has had a problem with the water so all schools near Merthyr are closing early today. WOn't be back in until Monday I suspect.
A big dump of snow from "Emma" to start tomorrow morning and continue for 36 hours. Wife expects to see 6 inches on Friday morning. Aged 50, I'm not as confident
