It’s cheap enough to buy on condition alone for me. At least you know on this one.....

Surely the MOT tester wrote it down wrong and put a 1 in front of 99499. I've known of this being done before and no matter how much you try to prove it to DVLA or VOSA they will not alter it. And the offending garage would take no responsibility for it even though it's effected the cars value. Check the car out on condition and how it's been treated and make your own mind up. Dealer might be willing to chop the price for a quick sale. Try and get a date and mileage when belts were done and they should have been changed on time alone looking at reg. number. Could have had a replacement speedo from another used Disco fitted for example. Be brave, it's cheap enough.

Not sure it's just an errant "1".

Like DSL I've just checked the DVLA website under MOT history and it appears that the car has done in excess of 200000 miles. They will do it, just checkout the high milers on this club site. As I said earlier try and buy it on condition and have a go at the dealer to get the price down. Some people are buying cars like this on salvage sites with heavy damage for similar money to repair or break for parts.

Plug in an IID, disconnect the cable to the MAF in front of the engine and see what the PCM states as the odometer reading for the fault code. On my doctored D4 TDV6 the value was in the vicinity of 259000 km while the IPC and BCM claimed 170000 km and were happy as clams. The Powertrain control module is not supposed to be able to go backwards.

MOT tester recorded an incorrect mileage on one of my cars
193K humm. Oh well, as long as you can afford a new gearbox at some point

Get it for at or less than you'd get for the bits if the worse happens, well these aren't new exactly the most reliable lumps. Then if worse case happens you'll not be too much out of pocket.
Plus factor in at that mileage you'll have to replace about everything on bar the cup holders if you want it to be nice. I think it's prob safe to bet that things were changed only when forced to do so by the pesky MOT.

Jeeps, Lexus, X-trails... Too many to name..

Bit OT, and more for my own interest, but looks like it's got mismatched tyres - Scorpions and Iotas?
My previous D3 came with the same set up, and despite both being 255/55R19 the Iotas were noticeably narrower than the Scorpions, did measure it but can't remember exactly how much. Is there a logical explanation, given they're both the same tyre size?

For that money it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. After all whatever mileage a discovery’s done when you buy it, it will inevitably cost you a small fortune at sometime down the line.
