If it hasn't been removed in years then it may be rusted up and the mechanism seized.
Mine took a fair bit of persuasion to remove.

So the expense of ownership might be sooner than I thought.
Currently hoping that this is not a full compressor replacement as that is about £800 from what I've read

Had a visit from Geoff all lined up this morning to flush the gearbox....or that was the plan!
Geoff ran the code reader and cleared a few faults but found a few issues
Too much coolant in the system
Engine oil leak
Gearbox oil leak (so no fluid change)
Compressor needs to be replaced
Lower Belt Aux tensioner is dangerously close to failing
At least I have a list to keep me busy! Honestly what a nice bloke and I look forward to seeing him in April to get my oil pump checked out.

Balls. Used this space to put my phone while using the phone nav and it's scratched it.
Any remedy?

Made a start on the body work yesterday as it's lived a hard life and not sure it's ever been polished!
Loads and I mean loads of scratches down the sides so made it an easy choice to wet send them with 3k paper and then polish with a rotary. One door took me about 3 hours so this will take my time over a few weeks with the whole thing.

Got some sill plates fitted today bit completely botched the drivers side. The tape used is so strong and the instructions warn that once it's sticks it's stuck! Will see how much it bothers me before deciding whether to cut off and refit the drivers one
The surrounding paint is still a complete mess so will need polishing to bring it back

After a brilliant trade with a forum member who didnt want his side steps (am sending my undamaged trim in return) I made a start on fitting them today.
After working out all the bits and pieces I made a start (Powerful UK videos have been a godsend especially for this!) but the rear screws were so rusted and corroded they were not coming out. I popped the lower sill trim off front to back after releasing the lower fixings. I was AMAZED how much dirt was held behind them. To think that would sit there rotting away would only mean problems later. It was tbe same on both sides

With the marked sat nav screen try gently using a bit of t-cut. Then polish. Should get rid of the marks. 2006 TdV6 HSE.
