Latest mod coming along. New rear power panel. Just need to get it wired and fitted. Happy with it so far though.

Will swap the volt meter for a better battery monitor. Along the lines of a Victron style that shows a bit more info.D4 MY15 SE TECH

A great thread Andy and some inspiration for mine. What battery tray are you using in the rear LH cubby? Also why do you come through the drivers side into the cab when the battery is passenger side? (mine is stop start too)

Sorry for the delay in responding but got a lot going on at the minute. Some good some not so good.
Came in the drivers side as it’s just the way I know as I did it that way on my D3. Was easy enough getting through the dash though. Not got a battery tray yet but will probably end up with the Prospeed one, however it is a bit on the pricey side, £80 ish I think, so might try and fabricate something myself.
Feel free to copy away
Getting the curve at the bottom of the panel to follow the trim is a bit tricky though. I’ve used ply and cut through some of the layers on the back so it “bends”. Then made a bit of a jig to put it in. Slowly tightening it until the desired curve is formed. Then filled the grooves with glue and left it for 24 hours. It’s not perfect but it is close. Version 2 will be better though
When I get time to fit it all I’ll post some photos. As I said though a lot going on at the minute so fitting might be awhile off yet.
Thanks for the comments though

Know what you mean about the green voltmeter. Will be swapping that for a Victron type that’s green. Have one on one of my power boxes and it works great. Plus already got the LED replacement lamp waiting to be fitted
This is the battery monitor I’ll be fitting. It shows voltage, current draw, etc

Not been on here for awhile, life getting in the way unfortunately.
Anyway my Yellow Top in the back of the D4 looks like it’s kaput so replaced it with one of these.
Not fitted it yet but got a 2 week holiday coming up so will get it all fitted then.
It’s a 50ah Renogy Lithium battery and seems to be really good quality. The weight difference over the YT is amazing. Just try doing this with a YT

Haha
Can’t believe the weight difference. Think Lithium is definitely the way forward. But it’s not only the weight but the physical size, so it’s easier to fit in the tight spaces we’ve got to work with. These are basically the same AH rating.

I assume your fancy redarc DC DC charger is good for lithium Andy, and that a normal split charge wouldn't work?D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten
