Just renewed with WD - £600 for another year. No betterment or parts contribution, despite car being over the 100k mark (their mistake, apparently - girl on the phone got to the end of the quote for renewing on a like for like basis then realised car was over the limit for zero parts contribution - she went ahead anyway after checking).

Only thing excluded now is the air con and suspension.

Whenever this question comes up on here it seems that only me and one other person have been seen off by Warranty Direct whereas everyone else raves about them, so statistically you’ve got a good chance I’d say.

Get my vote and money. Blue D4 has been on WD since end of LR Warranty and just started negotiating for Red ones cover to start 1st Sept.

Never had a problem with claims, dealers happy to work with them too, plus the cover is transferable to next owner should you sell on Thumbs Up
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Ok that all sounds good, but definitely need the air suspension covered since this is 1k per wheel...

Will call them in a bit and get it all sorted. Thumbs Up

So I just called them and got quoted £1180.90 for full cover!

I said that I had a quote from WW at £880, and this had come down from a similar quote provided by their website.

The response was that this is a new product introduced in March, and they are not allowed to discount it...

Thoughts please? Whistle

Can they really expect their customers to go from a £600 expectation to over £1.2k when the main competitor is pricing at £800?

WD haven’t paid out on every claim I made but when I took out the policy for the D4 they pointed out that they had paid out on 28 claims on the D3. Pays yer money and takes yer chance but on the D3 I was thousands and thousand up on going alone.

Saying that with almost 2 years of WD cover on the D4 I haven’t needed to make a single claim. Nothing, nah-dah, zilch. Dam that LR reliability. Big Cry Big Cry

Saying that, no warranty = no D4 for me, not worth the stress.

I did have a problem with my only claim on WD, on a car only 3 months out of manufactuer’s warranty, with a failed wheel bearing; it was dismissed as “wear and tear”, when the policy had been sold hard as “including wear and tear” from its very inception.

It took a lot of complaining and over a month for them to relent and that was only for £350.

So many others’ good reports made me reconsider their cover for when the FF becomes 3 years old but, since they were taken over by BNP and the way their policies are sold has been changed, the cost to cover a Full Fat has gone through the roof! Shocked The last time I looked, it was around £2,500 a year, vs £1,100 for LR’s highest level of cover.

It doesn’t surprise me that they are now an expensive option on the D4 as well.

Ok so end result is... surprisingly... I went for WW.

The cover they are providing is on the face of it far higher than the equivalent WD cover for 30% less cost.

The clincher was they agreed to freeze the cover for 3 years at maximum level and I pay £80 per month over that 3 years with a 100% pull out anytime.

I am quite happy with this and look forward to my first claim so I can test the quality of this cover.

Thanks for all your input Thumbs Up
