LED behind grille
Dave, I've got a two row LED 120W, approx. 24 inches long behind the grille - fits really nicely but had to trim quite a bit of the grille to let maximum light out - grille doesn't look damaged though - only if you look closely (and knew what it was like originally) would you notice the extra gaps cut out - pleased with the look and good extra light. Will see if I have a photo to post, or add one tomorrow.

That looks great! Really subtle and exactly what I want to do on my D3.
I presume that is a D4 grille though?
Would the same thing work on a D3 grille?
Where did you get it from? I notice it's 120w and there are some for sale that claim to be way brighter - are you finding this one to be as effective as you hoped? Is this one that is wide beam at the side and spot in the middle or all the same?
Sorry for all the questions! 👍formerly Disco3Ben

Yes, that's on a D4 - not sure how much light would get out from lower part of a D3 grille. Bought it from an ebay seller, but cant remember who - could look back through purchases, but it was some time back. Yes, has wide beam sections at sides and spots in middle. Its wired in to come on with main beam, but with a separate isolator switch and you can see quite a big difference when switching it on and off - was definitely worthwhile.

Stephen, it's not actually bolted in - fits nicely in gap behind grille, though I had to make small cuts in the grille for it to clip back in. Those cuts fit tightly to each end of light bar and hold it tightly in place. Light is 21 inches long. Hopefully you can see what I mean from photos.

Yellodisco - that's just the job and it's what was at the back of my mind when I posted my original query. Glad that it makes a worthwhile difference.
I wonder if I might come and see it sometime? You're just 15 mins away from me.D1 300Tdi - gone

does work well! if you get the chance then I'd really appreciate a link to which one you bought, so then I can check dimensions to fit into the D3 - there's so many out there I'd prefer to go with a recommendation formerly Disco3Ben

I did it like this. Yes it is a slimmed, curved LED-bar but the output is ok.

Rigid Industries do the SR20 combo or Hyper spot that fits in there nicely. It gives out a serious amount of useable light, along with two Lazer Triple R elite 750s mounted in the grill and two Triple R elite 1000 on the Prospeed roof rack I find dark lanes a joy

That Rigid Industries bar looks pretty good. That SR series Pro 20" Spot Flood Combo is quite pricey on the US website. I'll look for something similar on ebay methinks. I like it mounted behind the grill like that so it's good to know that others have had success with that way of doing it.D1 300Tdi - gone

This is my set up, cheapish lightbar with the grill trimmed to accommodate. Grill comes off easily. The curve of the LED matches the bonnet fairly well.
I have it switchable on the dash and linked to high beams so that I can have it on with the high beams or not. Makes a huge difference on country roads at 30 to 50 mph, but it scatters light too much to be effective for long distances, hence not great above 50 mph as your eyes are overwhelmed with the well lit near distance but struggle on long distance.

Hello from Costa Rica
Greetings to all, I live in Costa Rica and I have always liked the Land Rover, but in my country prices are very expensive and not to mention the spare parts and maintenance.
But it makes an effort to handle comfortable and safe. n addition to the elegance and British design!!!! This I did this weekend, what do you think? It's a 42 "curve" led bar.
What do you think? They are direct with the high light.
