100k+ mile d4
Currently on the look out for a d4 and at my budget I’m going to end up with an 11/12 plate with around and just above 100k miles what’s anyone’s experiences on this?
I had a disco 3 for 7 years took it from 68k to 118k so don’t do alot of miles but got to know the inns and outs and the love it and hate it that you get from a disco!

Mileage on cars isnt the end of the world like it used to be 20/30 years ago, but high mileage is still a stigma that us brits suffer from and pay dearly for.
The thing is with high milers you have to be financially prepared for unusual things to wear out like diffs/gearboxes and the like.
I dont know if you know but 2012 is when the 8 speeder gearbox came out?

Got my 2011 Disco 4 in June 2016 (at a similar budget to you) after doing alot of research on this forum, purchased at 122,000 miles and has just clocked 150,000 miles.
Most important thing is service history, don't get too hung up on LR dealership service, a good indi is much much better. At that sort of mileage you also need to make sure all belts have been changed (due at 105,000 miles or 7 years - which ever comes first)
Second most important thing is be lucky . Reading the forum you may think everything on a Disco will go wrong and will cost the earth (probably not that far from the truth ) but there are alot of owners who never experience catastrophic melt-downs and the car runs like a dream
Good luck with your searching Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Having owned a 3 for 7 years doing everything but the belts myself maintainable isn’t really the issue it was more people’s thought on one of that mileage, kind of a wound you but one with this many miles

I'll whisper this quietly so she doesn't hear...... but I've not had any problems (other than split intercooler hose, and the usual replacing front lower arms and brakes all round) with 150,000 miles on the clock so if you're confident with wielding a spanner then mileage is not an issue Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

My MY11 is 107k and same only brakes, and service items, about to do arms, oh and i replaced the compressor end cap with a stainless model to stop the issue with the split one.
Though I am currently getting a vibration through the steering wheel on 50mph plus braking. Jaguar I-Pace HSE imminent.
Gone HSE with Flappy Paddles. IID BT tool. RLD Spare Protector, Altox GPS.

I bought my first D4 with 98K last year and did 17k in the next 14 months. It had had a motorway life before and the previous owner didn't know what all the other buttons on the center dash were for. She had put it to LR as soon as it made a squeak so an incredible file of maintenance work done to it. Looked and drove like a car with half the miles so I would say don't worry as much about the miles, its condition and history, like previous posters have said. These cars will go to the moon and back if cared for.Prev: 2015 D4 HSE Corris Grey

My 07my is just about to top the 192.000 mark just coming up for it’s second belt change had g/box flushed and still runs like a dream solo or towing the big wobbly tin box
Servicing is a big preventative measure
