I've not got time to give them a ring, but have had an online quote from WD, the one thing I can't seem to find info on is if they have a claim limit (with LR it's the Purchase Price of the vehicle).

Obviously i'd firm anything up before taking a policy out but wondered if anyone here knows of WD's stance on claim limits - in particular the main thing I want cover for is the crankshaft, having had one go before!

look at the policy document, its the value of the vehicle. It does say "engine" and I specifically asked about crankshaft and they said yes verbally.

Am I right with point 16 in eclusions here, they only dont pay if someone else is making a contribution or if its under a recall or modification (well LR wont do that will they!!!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter )

Thanks, regarding the crankshaft, when I bought my Disco from LR they told me verbally that the extended warranty would cover it but I've read on here about numerous occasions where people have been refused it, so verbal confirmation is no good to me I'd need it specifically in writing to have any peace of mind.

OP - I got it in writing on an email, from WD before taking the policy out that the crankshaft is covered as part of my policy (secure care).
As per your thoughts -dont I had seen the numerous issues from LR and wanted it in writing.

I went for the core cover today, just before I hit 30k miles as it makes quite a difference, but cover not starting until my factory warranty runs out in mid March. It covers engine (so I believe crankshaft), turbos, transmission, not fuel or suspension, but at only £650 for 3 years, uncapped labour rate, I think that’s well worth it.

My factory warranty expires on 22 Feb (3 yrs old) and then Land Rover Approved until 18 July ( 2 yrs from when bought ) .
If I am considering after market warranty would it be best for cover to start 23 Feb instead of when the Approved one finishes end of July ?

Thanks

Entirely your choice, but worth seeing how much it is, based on my prices, it would be about £40 it would cost you to start in Feb.

I’d go with February, just as the manufacturers warranty expires, waiting till July gives them wiggle room in August etc. When I last looked at WD they you would be covered immediately in event of a claim when coming out of manufacturers warranty, LR’s two year used isn’t manufacturers warranty if they get picky.

Just having a think , would it be sensible to add the Safety System Protection option to the Core one as it covers braking/suspension issues ?

Just thinking about the air suspension which we use quite frequently .

Thanks
