OK... stupid question alert...
I’m heavily dependent on Microsoft products - how effectively can I run MS Word, Excel and Project on a Mac? I don’t really want to have to partition drives and all that malarkey or equally try to ‘force’ documents to work in a me-too offering from Apple.
Wot u fink folks???
My daughter has been running Office 365 on her Mac for 2 years+ and has zero issues working with the Windows or Mac version but generally MacOS is a lot easier to use in any case. With Apple's modern filing system (AFPS) the days or setting and formatting fixed partitions has long gone. Even if you decide to partition they are dynamic and share both space and resources as well as being able to create or delete as many as you like. Windows really is stuck in the past.
I have a couple of ancient apps that occasionally need an outing on Windows and whilst VMs do work I find just booting the Mac directly into Windows more convenient. With the speed of modern drives it is quick and easy. Of course, a Windows machine will not natively boot MacOS. The pain of Windows is that you usually have to pay for the privilege of upgrading the OS. In the Mac world we have all got used to getting a new OS every year for a dizzy price of free!

Sorry to jump on your F/S thread but is it OK to install Mojave OS onto a Fusion drive now or are there any special precautions Cheers Ian

It was the last configuration I took over to Mojave (I have 6 other Macs with just SSDs) and I did wait a week or so to see if any fusion issues were reported on the usual sites before committing. But it went without a hitch and has been rock-solid. So much so I let my Dad update his Fusion iMac without me on hand. Again, zero issues and Mojave does run better and quicker than the last couple of OS releases, especially on older Macs.

Thanks for that Robbie I'll give it a go
If anybody is wondering whether or not to give the Mac a try I would say go for it. I have ran PC's for years and they have always been good enough for me and I know everybody says Windows is crap etc but if they are well looked after and you know what you are doing they can be relatively problem free. But, late last year I was asked to edit a lot of 4k video and that's where the pc falls short. I bought my 2017 mac with 32gb of ram specifically for video editing as it is just so much quicker and easier to do and I had it in mind that i would just run the pc alongside it for everything else but I have all but migrated to the mac now as it just runs all the programmes I need so much faster and easier, so if you are thinking about making the move Robbie's machine is excellent value for money and I would recommend it. Cheers Ian

I can’t believe this hasn’t sold.
I agree!
....if it were not that I have an iMac27 "(although a little old, bought in 2010, them next to decade like the D3 ) that goes, and has always gone, like a cannon and in which I have too many things to make a move, great laziness, I would definitely buy that bargain that you sell, and I know it would be a great improvement for me... I've even come to think about it, but I can not ... I have to think about something else ... but I think it's a great opportunity ...
...I forgot, I would like especially to get that magnificent helmet so cool that you give to the buyer!!

I'm almost tempted to buy this myself. If I didn't not get on with Apple I'd have it in a heartbeat.

I’m in the same position Ruben. Got the 2010 version with 32Gb RAM and it works as well as the day I bought it, otherwise I would have had this the moment ot came up for sale. Its a fantastic bit of kit at a VERY good price.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
