Quick question about boot release |
|
On the d4 is there an override switch to open the upper tailgate? Button worked last night but not today. The button on the remote doesn’t work either.
Does this point to a dud actuator? Do I need to rip the trim off the boot panel and destroy it?
I changed the actuator cable in my old d3 but that was a long time ago. Are both actuators in the lower tailgate?
I knew I shouldn’t have brought another disco. Only 2 weeks in.
Thanks in advance.

They are on the door. And it’s a rocker so can’t be pushed together narpy.
It was working last night. Arrrghhh! You remind me of a younger me, not much younger mind...perhaps even a little older!

When I push the button it says briefly on the dash that the tailgate is open so the button is working. Looks like it’s the actuator or wiring.
Pat butchery time!

Well, I was just about to take the chisel to the boot and thought ill give it another try, It opened. Stripped it all out, it works now.
Strange. Should I order a new one, im going to put an emergency piece of pull wire in and have a small hole in the boot carpet for future ups i think!
Whats the general consensus??? Dodgy actuator or wiring or worse? bcm going down and locking out the boot actuator???
