Well actually I’m going to have to now also. Seen as I’m going to have 1 super clean black arch and the rest of the car looks like crap. Jarrod

Genuinely just the magic sponge (dr power) and water. If that stays like it looks now I am seriously considering starting a new religion.
I’ve watched and read so many things about car cleaning, bought a ton of different things for this and that I’m the hope one day I can have a clean nice looking car and then this thing comes along and literally changes your life.
Edit:
It’s probably going to eat through a LOT of it to do all the black plastic on a pre colour coded D3 Jarrod

Did a bit of both. The only spell I was casting was “I hope this works, I hope this works, I hope this works...” you get the idea. If it does it’s going to be a whole hell of a lot cheaper than some of the snake oil they sell.Jarrod

Put an advert up on Ebay along the lines of Vehicle Plastic trim restorer but omit to put up any photos apart from the before and after pics of the trim.
Priced at a tenner
Buy a pile of magic sponges from the pound shop (cant remember how much they are )
Retire to the country

Just a follow up on this post from the other day.
I had a few hours to spare today and decided to have a go at the plastic trim as so many have before.
On previous cars I have used a heat gun to bring the plastic back to life, but after reading this thread the other day thought I would give it a go with the magic sponge.
You can clearly see below the results obtained
All this achieved with nothing more than the sponge, a little time and some water to both lubricate and wash out the sponge.
The end result;
I have to say I am quite happy with the result so far, but it remains to be seen as to how long it will last and if/when it will want doing again.

Forgot all about this thread with all the festivities.
My one is still fairly black. I think the trick would be to do this as it totally cleans the plastic back to its base and then give it a light coat of something.Jarrod

Agreed, now to find what would be the best product to use after it has been cleaned.
Unfortunately back in the wagon at 4am tomorrow so no time for the next few days, I will try a few products I have laying around next time I am home.
