This is the state of mine, note it is an HSE Lux and the finish certainly looks like paint, it was like it when I bought it.
Question is, will paint cover it up or react with it ?
It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Yes, I agree. It does look like it has been painted. It should be fine to repaint with a good rub down with wet & dry.Kev

Painted ones?
The problem with the black plastic ones is that they turn white.Kev

Hi
First pics are 2 x coats of adhesion spray applied
Also found it easier using the spray can handle
Says I have to leave it 15-20 in between each grey plastic primer coat then 24 x hours to fully harden
2 x coats of adhesion spray
Pics below have had there First coat of grey primer on the scuttle , A pillars
Removed heater air inlet cover that sits under the scuttle panel so when I sprayed the front of the scuttle panel it would allow paint to go through the holes better

Also thought about buying a new scuttle panel but by the sounds of it also fade over time
Fingers crossed doing this , the panel and A trims will stay black a lot longer
After this I’ve got a second hand bumper to do, with that I’m not sure if I should remove and spray all my wheel arch trims at the same time
Along with using my air compressor, finish wise for the wheel arches I like where they are mat black and not finished the same way and the bodywork
Never sprayed with an air compressor in my life so will be a good educational process , of course will put my hands up and ask for guidance, yeh i know ur all blocking me already
Bumper / trim / all for another day as I’ll fit my new AC condenser when I remove the front bumper

Found it
This is the company that sell the according Land Rover colour codes and year spray paint
I use this paint a lot, the acid etch primer is great for alloy wheels.
The only bad thing that i will say is that the spray nozels are not tall enough and spray onto a ring on top of the can and this causes drips if you have the can held at an angle.

Amazing the difference it makes
My disco is java black to haven’t got worry about matching up colours
Door handles also faded , will however be a royal pain as there not 2 x part , so had thought about cheating and using mat finish covers
Maybe something like this ????
