Thks as indeed seeing the wheel arch trims just clip off thought using cans then might get very expensive
I got a SGS 50 litre compressor and it came with a gravity spray gun , imagine it’s not very good
Thought of using the same type of mat paint I’ll use on my front bumper , so with all the panels removed can spray the lot all in one go
Put the air compressor into an old speaker box to make life easier as it’s on wheels and store it under the stairs , did get a longer 3/8 hose
Installed larger 3/8 isolating valves and a dryer , so one for dry ie, like spraying , / tyre inflator , other side via the oiler / pressure regulator for air tools
Then fitted a dirt trap , moisture pipe
So a massive learning curve for me but really enjoy doing things like this
If it will be simply to get the same Matt black paint and use thinners , alas though don’t mind putting my hands up and saying I’ve not got a clue and that I don’t drive everyone nuts in asking
Alas don’t know if I’ll have to buy another spray gun or the one I’ve got will be ok
Won’t be doing this for a while

Many thks
Allowed the 2nd grey primer coat a good few hours to dry , alas feels slightly rough so going to give the panels a very light wet and dry again
Then give it a third coat
Nah candy wouldn’t be that daft to get near me whilst I was spraying

I’d imagine a well painted one fades slower than a new unpainted one.
Also it’s therapeutic to f... I mean tinker with one’s vehicle

Is this the part that you refer to Gary?
BTW, I had one of the same pullers (the cheaper one) but it collapsed under the stress of trying to remove the wipers. Just gave them a couple of whacks and lots of lanolin spray and they eventually yielded. I might have said some stern words as well.
Something for others to consider is that if your vehicle has the RAI fitted it is difficult to remove the scuttle for refurbishment without removing the 'A' trims. I did consider doing it in place but did manage to remove the scuttle without the 'A' trim pieces having to come off.
But, and it is a big but, the two outermost yellow clips were unable to be put back on when reassembling.
Thanks for the 'how-to' for the rest of the job.LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Hi
Indeed , wished to clean it off abit and found these dremels ideal
Just thinking of how I can paint it without covering the lettering
Might get a thin piece of metal then letter stamp it , spray the winch then glue the plates on , well in theory
Same also happened with my puller , but got there in the end with the HD ones
