Well this happened in Newquay yesterday i and understand why you would take a transit on the beach and especially a brand new one
I did feel a little sorry for him as it’s spoiled his holiday -------------------------------------------------

Did no one offer to drag him out?
WHat happens with insurance in that instance? He is off the public road?

Evidently he was offered help but couldn’t find towing eye , as I have the same model transit I know the long towing eye is stored in the engine bay and screws in on the passenger side bumper behind a cover panel
If it was me I would have asked every one there for help to push me out even if I had to give the a few £££ -------------------------------------------------

Crikey, I'd even chuck a rope/strap through the cabin with doors open!
Wonder how fast the tide came in ...

That's going to be an interesting phone call to the insurance company.

Even three jet-skis (or a bug RIB) pushing it might have helped.

I'll bet the people who's peaceful day was ruined by the jet ski buzzing about causing annoyance had a little chuckle to themselves.

That's Towan beach, which is a coincidence because when I bought my first D4 4-5 years ago within a few days I got stuck on that beach!
EDIT - on looking at the other pics, my mistake it's Newquay harbour!

tosh to finding the towing eye surely in that kind of situation you attach it to whatever you can and pull the damn thing out
some people are just naive to the dangers of things like this I got stuck on a beech once luckily the tide was no where near and lots of boat tractors were available and offering assistance. I do feel sorry especially when its highly unlikely the insurance won't pay out.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Just wondering..... a beach is not a highway, nor private land, so does the law allow vehicles to be driven in this public area?
Or is it up to individual councils to allow this or not. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
