One of the good points of SUV designs is the brake lights are a bit higher than most cars , so are more easily seen in traffic.
Unless it's a Kia , where they decided to mount them low in the bumper
Still looks better than D5 r-send though..

I tried to like the D5, up to now I have had 3 x D3 and one D4. The one thing I wanted was reliability as well as looking good. The D5 does not look good enough for its asking price. The new defender maybe is the way to go. Range rover is too big. In the end it is a consumer product and is subject to consumer current tastes.

2021 Hyundai Santa Fe looks good, the grills a bit in your face but overall looks a nice car.

Oh dear!
Can't be doing with all these overpressed body panels and the overstyling that accompanies it.
As for the interior, fine in a big car, but not in a 4x4.
And, it's not a Land Rover!
But it's probably just me .... stuck in a time warp and still idolising the D3/D4 shape.
there's a lot of added strength/rigidity in those creases ... but I know what you mean.

As an urban 4x4 I think it looks good and fits the market well. Sadly this space that the D5 and DS now compete in is very crowded with lots of good cars. Having the off road capability the D3/4/5 has is more than most people want or need.
Having a 7 year warranty on a car is a big attraction for many, as is also avoiding LR dealers and LRCS. I can see the Santa Fe doing well.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

On the other side of the pond Kia gets a pretty good rating on their quality while Tesla (as the title says) is a disaster.
Yes, it seems like someone manages to make worse quality cars than JLR. Not by much, however, but still.

So many US companies above European and Japanese companies. Is there a ‘not made here’ factor? Or is it just that the support in US is poor for non domestic?
CheersGary

I think a lot of "foreign" cars are actually built in the US. Certainly BMW have a very large factory over there.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

It isn't just cars - eg most Stihl chainsaws are made in Germany but for the US market they are made over there (and considered by many to be inferior quality as a result)Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

What have they done to the wheel arches
Saves the wheel arches being damaged by inconsiderate parkers etc , so have creased them inwards to save future damage ?
