Ok - time to look at the start of this thread again, I've finally posted something worth reading - well, maybe if you're interested in one of these in the first place that is Whistle

OK, I'm confused (Situation Normal). Which one is this GB for - the rasta or the FR? Is there any great difference?

Not wanting to knock your GB (esp as I'm not buying one) but I don't think £35 off a £540 product is very much discount when you're getting 10 of them..... 6.48% discount..... Confused

I tend to agree with you Bodsy and am trying to get back in contact with Heine as he offered to look into costs if we wanted to possible do a deal direct, but as it's better than the normal price I thought I'd list it for now incase there as some people who need one urgently. It also allows us to compare to other offers.

Lets see what Heine comes back with (if he still can), but I for one have pulled out for now.

Not heard from Rasta - I have e-mailed them this morning for a quote. But just heard from Heine and he's going to FR for us to get pricing for 5 units and 10 units - I asked for "most economical" shipping aswell. Once i have this I'll look at the costs we'll incurr for Import Duty & of course VAT.

Thanks Heine Thumbs Up

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I can see on the pictures the obvious difference appears to be the locking bracket on the Rasta one interferes with the reversing sensor, whereas the FR one doesn't and a slight difference in the bracket design i.e. one is round cross-section tube, the other rectangular. As for other differences I'm afraid I can't help.

Just been informed that these for which we have a UK supplier and prices already are neither FR nor Rasta, they are "Big Country" - I should have guessed that from the picture I was sent Embarassed

Thanks to Heine and another person who shall rename nameless to protect the innocent, I'm getting some interesting information on FR's & Rasta's - await import duty and shipping costs before I post anything.

So for now I recommend you hold off.

Finally got some information together on an alternative - take a look at the start of the thread for details, but basically you have the choice of the Big Country or Rasta unit, closing date is set at the 16th May 2008.

Once you have decided and selected you choice above, please PM me your contact details i.e. E-mail, Full Name and if possible a phone number - please title the PM as either "Rasta GB" or "Big Country GB" depending on your choice. After the 16th May I will confirm by reply pm/e-mail which one we are able to go for and the ordering process.

Regards,

DN

Just curious - why aren't many of you guys going with the Kaymar full bumper replacement that has a carrier already built on?

I do like it on mine. Photos in my gallery.

I'm sure you have good reasons - what are they?

Personally I'd rather not add the extra weight of the Kaymar bumper or pay the extra money, though having seen the costs of the ones on offer here I think I'll stick to slinging the extra spare in the back or in the roof when ever I need it

Matty, I think BOAB sell a wheel carrier for the D3 now too. Maybe worth giving them a call too.
