Thanks Peter K.
Yes every thing was working fine and even now it starts and drives but haven't checked the bits that are controlled by the box.
Did notice that only the o/s head light was working.
we will see what the insurance guy says and ask for copy of report.
Cars to good to let go so ( if there is one) ha

Now looked at the web site again and they have 5stars from one system and only 1 from the one named, how this works?
Now thinking about selling and ask what people think it's worth.

To be honest, the only real way to find it’s current value is to put it on something like eBay.
See what you can do with insurance etc first.
If it’s a no go then there’s no harm in having a look yourself to see how bad it is. You can get reasonable access to that area. The forum can always help with advice and direction as you go.

M3bobby,
Thanks for replying, the insurance company does not inspire confidence as they haven’t even seen it yet and said it’s not covered. the write up on the web site also confirms that this is not one to be trusted.
Had to hire my own car 🚙 and that’s the size of it to a disco, no help from them
Would not recommend them to any one.
I for one would take it to court as there terms are given once you make payment .
As for the old girl I will replace the wiring because she is the best I’ve driven and replaced lots and a great drive, been to Devon back home 🏡 Cornwall back home 🏡 to Whitby back home 🏡 and them to Weymouth and back 🏡 oh and a trip to Brighton all in three months and never missed a beat.
The seats are great and the way you sit above the others you can see what’s going on.
So no I am sold on her. And with 10 months MOT she’s alive

I guess you need to work out how many things don’t work on the car.
Headlight.
Then you can access whether to give up on insurance. And court fee s
As it drives you maybe able to make it safe and drive it around for less cost than a hire car , excess , fees etc.
Basically cut a melted wire coming out of the fuse
Sleeve it.
See what doesn’t work.
Drive around carrying a fire extinguisher.

If they don’t pay out then in my opinion it’s not a claim.

Well Lookers stepped up to the mark and inspected their car before the insurance company even booked an assessor to look at it, it's been nearly two weeks
Lookers have said it will need,
Body harnes
KVM (?) I'll find out what that is
Fuse box
Glove box trim
Trim on bonnet pull area
Trim on NSF/ between door and glove box.
Not to bad
Oh and now a phone call from insurance assessor office( Moblie number ) saying that they were only booked today and would like to come Monday and they will let me know the time over the week end by text what a company! When you try to call back no one answers.
I think trustpilt need to be looked into as well because for even bad review there's a good one on their site!

KVM is the Keyless vehicle module, I doubt it’s damaged, it’s probably more along the lines of it’s matched to a new fuse box which you need.
If you go second hand (if the insurance don’t pay up) you can get all of that at a good price from a breaker/eBay. The hardest thing to find will be the body loom but I’d be tempted to buy what you can and repair what you have with a donor loom.

You need a pin/socket remover tool. Pull fuse board, pull cables as far as possible. Get some multicoloured wire and a pen and pencil. Remove pin/socket of a burnt wire, replace with new piece or wire suitably soldered and sleeved. Check continuity from repair to wherever it goes (obviously a wiring diagram is a must). Note colour and location on paper. Repeat for next wire, just take your time. Get new/secondhand board and check fuses and positions are suitably filled.
