Now heading from Brussels, Eurostar was pretty quick, then straight on to the train to Liege. Which is not the fastest in the world, but it’s our first double decker so worth a pic.

Not sure I’ll be able to read some of the numbers (Russia & China) so no.
Good Luck Bill Bryson err sorry Del The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

I’ve got a long way to go, literally, to another Bill Bryson. Literally.
Liege was a really good call cf stopping near Brussels Midi station. We’re in the Hotel de la Couronne which is right outside the station and a few hundred metres from the Tout Simplement cafe/restaurant that does fantastic Liege meatballs. They almost defeated SWMBO. Almost.

I couldn’t resist moules marinière. They were hiding under all that veg, honest. They almost defeated me. Maybe.

And the frites were suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuperb, esp with mayonnaise.
Now tucked up in hotel watching Denzel Washington beat the bad guys while speaking French.

We looked at the Ghan, and the Indian Pacific, unfortunately both well and truely outside our budget. We’ve got boring old Kangeroo (Qantas) booked for the longish hop from Perth to Melbourne.

Del,
moules marinière?????? More like salad and chips. You're not fooling anybody.
