Tyre Pressure Monitoring system (TPMS) bulk purchase |
|
OK.
Anyone interested in exploring a group buy for this item (Model No: TD-1000A-X (Tyre Pressure & Temperature Monitoring System)?
RRP A$399.
below is quote from Earle at TMJ Megastore for this product.
RRP $399
quote is:
10 units = $340.00
25 units = $310.00
plus post if applicable.
He would prefer money for all items at once and to give them to a single contact person for
redistribution.
I have NOT approached Earle about other versions (such as the 6 wheel monitor) but have included it in the signup and if there are sufficient numbers (10 or more) will ask him about discount on that too.
I will run this for 30 days.
NOTE, there is NO commitment at this stage. Once we have reached critical numbers (10+) I will then confirm details.
Peter regards
Peter

Hi PBH,
I looked at the web site product pictures.
Would the sensors not be too easy for kids to remove, unlike
the "fitted from inside" type ?
It refers to locking nuts.....but on a rubber stem,I don't know.

Damien at Zylux said that they won't fall off and that the 'lock nut' is a small grubscrew. They are fairly inconspicuous as well. regards

I received a reply from Damien at Zylux about the 6 tyre TPMS. So I expect the 8 tyre TPMS will be a bit more for the extra sensors.

I'm in town tomorrow Peter,so will pop into TMJ to "eye ball" the Goods.
Mrs NP wants a set for the Honda.
Could be two sets then
Would be good if we got a 25 sets price deal for your idea.
Cheers ,
Neil.

Not going to pretend I know a lot about TPMS, does it give the actual pressure of the tyre on the display, or does it just trigger an alarm when the pressure changes?
When you fit the system on the tyre valve can you still inflate/deflate the tyres?
Also noticed that ebay has 2 different brands as well
I think the landrover TPMS can be retrofitted to 07MY an above, not that I have even seen one. Trust me, what could go wrong?

Razzle,
see:
http://www.tyredog.zylux.com.au/faq5.html
so unless optional 3 way valve is fitted they need to be removed prior to inflating/deflating.
The unit will show either individual tyre pressure in PSI, KPA, BAR or KgCM or each tyres temperature. regards
Peter

I think I would be interested in the 3 way valve fitting, but I am wondering if it will start sticking out past the rim?
Anyway we could check this?
But then again, it is not that often I get out and change the tyre pressure Trust me, what could go wrong?

I haven't had any fall off. The lock nut works very well.
You have to remove the sensor to inflate/deflate, but that takes about 30s.
I even had all four submerged for about 2 hours when i was stuck in a lake and no problems except for one whose battery went.
I'm pretty pleased with them. Have a nice day!

I bought the tyredog(4) sensors in SA for US$ 200. The only problem I have is that the pressures are not that accurate, about 20psi out. They do however give you a good warning.I had two punctures recently and the system works well.

I have the same kit fitted to my D2 & have had no problems at all. (I organised a Group buy for D2au)
Been fitted for about 4months now & find the pressures are out by maybe 1-2psi compared to my hand gauge. System works very well. Comes complete with all batteries & either a suction mount to the glass or a double sided tape mount. I did have the suction mount but have now used the tape method.
Has a power lead to the monitor with a handy push/push switch for the cig lighter.
For the price i find it very good & well worthwhile, nice to check all the gauges & one more for safety is well worth it. D4 Alaska/Almond 2.7 TDV6 with E-diff & extra's..
Keep smilin' Pete.

G'day everybody,
My apologies if this message is not appropriate - I'll say no more then
I was looking for these TPMS stuff on evil-bay and was seriously contemplating hitting the 'Buy' button on the item below:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wireless-Ti...QQtcZphoto
It looks to be exactly the same (branded as 'Ever Smiling' , if they are smart, they should re-brand it 'Permagrin... ) as what you guys are considering buying but the delivered price is only about AUD 253.00 delivered.
Am I missing something here?
Cheers
