You just gotta love em’
My Citroen Dispatch van is currently insured with Admiral.
During lock down they kindly refunded me £25 because claims were down due to the vast majority not driving.
My renewal is due in 2 weeks and Admiral have decided not only do they want their £25 back but also want to increase the premium by another £45, making a total increase of £70. Nearly a 20% increase
The sort of percentage rise I’ve not seen in my business the last 10 years, let alone 1.
A quick go compare search gets my £70 back, but why do we have to go through this rigmarole every year Discovery 4 HSE

Because insurance companies have us all over a barrel. It's something we all have to have, they know we have to have it, and they have absolutely no qualms about bleeding us dry when selling it to us.
For what it's worth, give eSure a try - I have D3 and car insured with them, and for the last three or four years there's been almost no annual increase in premium - in fact, one year it actually went down a little. Perhaps the only motor insurance provider I've ever dealt with who don't make it their mission to penalise loyal customers for renewing with them year on year.

just had renewal in £386 last year £478 this year....so changing to churchill £388....they are certainly upping the excess arrangements...

Something is happening in the insurance game, boat insurance has gone up approx 20 percent this year and it was much the same last year.
