Wheels are getting there but I'd rethink letting tyres get to bare minimum on this type of beastie.

The reason I let the tyres slide this time was because I was aware of the issue with the arms for a while and I wasn't using the Discovery much. In fact, once my little Jeep is fixed, (a hose and oil pump drive key), my Discovery probably won't be doing many miles anyway, will mostly be for towing. Although I suspect once I get behind the wheel again properly, I will more than likely end up using this to go everywhere again.

After this is all done, I will get a couple of months use out of it, then sadly it will be back off the road for a couple of weeks, as it will be going to a specialist to have new inner and outer sills on the passenger side done. I still need to get my other D3 on the road too Laughing That is currently just being used around my yard to tow cars and jump start them Laughing Does look smart doing it though Laughing

Finally, I am feeling happy, although a little frustrated, Went to do the A/C Condenser using the guide on here, and all I am going to say is.... My car will have to be done the proper way Laughing Which was not going to be done today! So gave the car a service as I realised in 15000 miles, I had not yet serviced it. The only thing I didn't change for this service was the fuel filter. That will be done next month. And I forgot to change the front discs until I was driving and I felt the pedal fluctuating Rolling with laughter So in a couple of weeks, I will change them, But took the Discovery to the jet wash on the way home and now it is on my drive. 4 wheel alignment is booked in for Saturday morning, so I will be using my Discovery properly again from Saturday. However for the next 2 days, I will be in my little diesel Mini as I left the Freelander at work. It was awesome being in my Discovery again. And even though it is now heavily pulling to the right, it no longer tries to steer itself from the rear and the wondering front end has completely gone, it was an absolute pleasure to drive, but I kept the speed no higher than 40 at any point in the journey as I know the front wheels are toeing out. And of course, my horrible neighbour who told everyone I sold my Discovery was made to look an idiot when I rocked up in it today Rolling with laughter

I am still not a fan of these wheels on this Land Rover out of my collection, but they don't look as awful to me, now that they are clean and the car is clean.

I hadn't planned on using the Discovery until tomorrow, but I left the Freelander at work and a small towing job cropped up out of hours.

So went on a short slow journey, and I am soo relieved to be back in this beast.

Still not liking the wheels being on this.

Well.... My Discovery is parked up again Shocked

Got fed up with the warped front brake discs, so replaced them, only to find the caliper carriers both sides had 1 slider pin seized each. The drivers side one would not free up no matter what I tried, and ended up sheering off Censored

Also the car went for 4 wheel alignment, and they couldn't carry it out as 1 panhard rod was seized, so ordered a new one, I am still really ill, but muddling through this, I have ordered my Carrier from Island 4x4, and hoping that they will be very quick, as I need to get the Discovery back on the road for Friday ideally as I am supposed to be collecting a new to me transporting trailer on Saturday. But I may have to tow that empty back to work with the Freelander.

I am hoping to get this Discovery back on the road properly ASAP so I can sell both my Freelanders, and put a little cash into the other Discovery and get that on the road as well. Funnily enough, it needs less work, but more annoying and time consuming jobs Laughing

Today the spare wheel winch stopped working half way through lowering the spare wheel Shocked but got it out of the way so I could get my fat backside under the car to get the rear panhard rod off. This was done ahead of the new part arriving as I had invisioned major problems, but actually, a lot of heat and determination with my impact gun, saw the nut come off in under 10 minutes. The bolt in the arm came off easily. So now waiting for the part and feeling frustrated and excited, hoping to get this back on the road by Friday.

Brakes are all done. But now sat waiting and twiddling my thumbs for the panhard rod and fictures to arrive. I made the stupid mistake of ordering from 3 different suppliers!

Sounds like you need to follow Dels's path and move on to a Honda Jazz for pin free, soul destroying reliability. Laughing Thumbs Up

Discovery is more reliable, my issues are just wear and tear, maintenance jobs, I am not stupid enough to buy a Honda Jazz, I wouldn't want a car that suffers badly from ECU failure and thieves love to liberate the cats from Rolling with laughter That said, when my Gran dies, I will inherit a blue one, and that is going straight to someone like webuyanycar no matter what is offered. My Discovery will be on the road by the end of next week at the latest anyway. Literally just waiting on 3 parts, then I can hang the Freelanders keys up and jump in the Discovery.

Been awesome being back in my Discovery as my daily again, today I collected 2 caravans and it drove like a dream. I need to get the wheel alignment sorted out though. But I had to get 2 caravans moved today, so that is all I did, didn't even pick up the spanners to work on any cars. And that is going to remain the case until Saturday, I will be doing a couple of hours in the morning before the heat really ramps up, then not touching anyones cars until Monday.

The Disco has been hard at work, towing various caravans across the country, but today I finally got it in for the proper 4 wheel alignment, which has made a huge difference in how it drives, however, the guys who did the alignment said, the arm that adjusts the toe angle on the rear passenger side needs to be replaced sooner, rather than later as it is in worse condition that it first appears, so had a look on their ramps, and yep, immanent failure is expected, so for now, while I await the parts to be delivered, the D3 is on short journeys only duty, which has to be until Thursday morning at the latest as I have to tow a caravan across Kent. But will use my little diesel Mini for now. I tried to upload images in JPG format but it wouldn't let me stating error retrieving album data. I will try again another time.

It is with a heavy heart, that due to my health and a newer Range Rover coming into my life, that I have decided to part ways with my much loved Tonga Green Discovery. It will be up for sale after next Saturday which is when I take delivery of my new to me made for 1 year only Range Rover L322. The Range Rover was unplanned and landed in my lap yesterday. Before that moment, I had no intentions of selling my Discovery.
