Update…..
Received a response from the eBay seller and I asked him why mine don’t work and what the password is.
He replied with……
“My friend... the password is at the Webasto Factory. Only with their help can we make your heater functionaly. The procedure is as follows: The current software is extracted with the help of a Webasto diagnostic device (see in my ads on ebay) and sent to Webasto. After we pay 100£, he will send us an unlocked and functional software that we must insert into the electronic unit of the heater”.
So why do I have to change the firmware and payout extra where others have just installed his device and works first time?
Why wait, just go for it and enjoy life.

First: i do not know the 2010 on LR regarding the FBH specifics..
And if it works with such a device as you bought..
BUT as i have sold hundreds of Webasto FBH’s in the past, i do know that Webasto produces in general 2 different TT type’s , as in, one for general use and “one” for brand specific use…
The last one has firmware specific for a brand and sometimes even model…
If that is the case here…..
That is the choice of a brand, in this case JAG/LR
Such a brand wants to sell “mods” and remote systems themselves so it is locked for the “standard” W-bus signal…
You can buy “new” or reflashed Webasto electronics so it will work with “general” W-bus remote’s
I think the seller means that? You can buy new flashed electronics?
Isn’t it possible you use your “old” /original electronics in your new Webasto hardware unit?Best regards
Harold

Thanks for the reply.
I’m not dull by far, well old age I think is catching up with me lol not as tech savvy as I was 10 years ago.
I’m still confused .com to be honest and why it’s always me that gets stuck with something others have just fitted and it works straight out of the box.
Might just put it all back as it was and throw the thing in the bin, all I wanted was the means to turn it on and off.

All the others that have this working have D3s.
They started at £60 and it was too tempting for D3 owners.
D4 owners have the choice to unlock? With gap iid Timed climate or a factory remote kit to plug in the rear. Ok remotes not as cheap….
Don’t bin it! Sell it

Just to clarify something, this seller will not be working with Webasto or the ‘Webasto Factory’ as they would never get involved with altering software for one off second hand heaters. I can also assure you that Webasto UK does not have the capability to modify heater software so that rules an official UK source out entirely.
Tread very carefully, or even better not at all - spend your money on a proper solution that doesn’t require unknown software bodges.

I’ve turned on the timed climate option with my IIDTool and still it doesn’t work.
I might sell it and get a proper LR Version.

Is this the unit people have purchased? Which wire/configuration do I need to get wbus output? I feel this is just a remote unit despite being sold it as wbus controller!

Anyone Fitted this combo of remote and wbus unit? Got a few switch option inside that need altering depending on what you want it to do. Can get it to power up and communicate but heater doesn’t fire up. It works fine under auto control by the car when under set temp etc. can hear a clicking noise from inside the Fbh but no smoke or signs of life apart from this.

Just fitted. Took about 5 days from Romania. Three wires to connect up (+, - and pin 2 on FBH - wire from D3 shop)
Works a treat

Chris says he fitted this device on a D4, but that can't be right. He clearly says that he bought a "red wire" from D3 shop, but every D4 still have this wire so if he needed to add it, that's because he has a D3... Or he is trolling, because the simple remote cant start a FBH without W-bus converter.
I had exactly the same problems with eBay parts sold by "Mikepowerparts".
- Bought only the remote, thinking it could start my FBH : FAIL (of course).
- Added the W-Bus controller : FAIL.
Nevertheless :
- My FBH is perfectly working with "Timed climate" function.
- My FBH is perfectly working with the Thermo Test software (using Mikepowerparts test cable), only if I cut the red wire close the FBH to connect the cable. If I only pick the test cable on the wire continuing to the rear right trunk side, that doesn't work.
- Using the "manual heat" button or trying to use the remote/converter to start FBH, it starts and stops just after a couple of minutes and lock the FBH in error E7 state (interlock).
That makes me thinking about what wrote Motolab above. The D4 FBH could be designed to be locked when using a different remote than the one sold by LR...
