Which warranty? (crankshaft cover)

So... with the apparent 'difficulties' Warranty Direct seem to be experiencing (no new policies or renewals at this time - according to Motor Easy) and with mine expiring after 3 years with them in July 2021 ... I've got a couple of quotes and queries for your good selves please :-}

Motor Easy - around £1500 for 2 years

WarrantyWise - £2400 - 2 years

Both assure me crankshaft failure will be covered - but only Warranty Wise have confirmed that in an email so far..

Anyone had dealings or thoughts?

^^^^ Thumbs Up seconded
WW have hundreds more complaints than any other warranty company both from individuals denied a pay out and from garages who had done the authorised work but waited months for payment from WW.

One of our boys bought a Mini with Warranty Wise cover, the drivers door mirror failed, it wouldn’t fold under power, they tried not to pay saying it has to be a moving part, it is when it works 🤷🏻‍♂️

So - contacted Warranty Direct and they confirmed they would be unable to renew my policy in July 2021.

As others have said - all the companies will try to assure the Crank Shaft is covered. Motor Easy have sent me confirmation in an email that they would cover crankshaft failure and consequential damage and would be OEM parts. But crucially, for me.... they did not say they would NOT regard such failure as a manufacturing defect (which I had asked for)... maybe I am expecting too much?

Similarly ... when I asked WarrantWise to send me a confirmation email on similar lines - the operative backed off stating she would have to consult their 'repairers'...... "is it a known manufacturing fault then?" she asked.

I said well - if you follow your 'sponsor/owners' (Quentin Wilson - no 'weasel words') advice in your policy documents and dig deep enough you will inevitably find accusations and unproved manufacturing defects on most makes. I also told her the feedback I have received is not good for them 'would not buy a WW warranty with someone else's money' I quoted (thank you DiscoMikey!)

So I do not expect to hear back from them! - MotorEasy, of course, stated that WW were the second worse Car Warranty etc etc...

I'm figuring - I will 'wing' it and go without Shocked

Thanks for the update. Mine is up at the end of June next year. Maybe something else will come along, or perhaps I'll keep my full dealership service history, take out the LR warranty (yes I know it's not actually with LR) and hope for a good amount of goodwill should the worse happen. Either that or hope for the best.
Cheers

I understood you couldn't take out an 'LR' warranty sometime after the three year manufactures warranty had expired? - but I'd be pleased to be proved wrong!

I just entered my details on the LR website for extended warranty and have been advised 'there are no products available that match your vehicle' .... so we are f**ked!
