Android 7” screen install help

Hi all

I have just got an android 7” unit to go in the central cubby connected to the Aux on the original stereo.

Has anyone got the required wording diagrams to connect this? Do I need to connect all the speaker outputs from the new unit to the stereo speakers etc?

What unit did you get? One designed for the D3?

If it uses the Aux input then there are no speaker connections to make as they come from the existing amp. 2012 Discovery 4 HSE Sumatra Black

2005 Discovery 3 HSE, Buckingham Blue
1987 Defender 90, some sort of grey

If it has an "audio out" that connects to the existing Aux then nothing fancy to do with the speakers. That part is sorted Smile 2012 Discovery 4 HSE Sumatra Black

Looking at the info with it the RCA output socket has

2 - Aux-R
3 - Aux-L
19 - Aux- V Discovery 3 XS 2008 Manual Zambezi Silver

If your unit doesn't have a jack connected to fit the Aux socket then you can wire it straight in.

Here's some instructions:

Mine is an S model so never had the top screen it’s currently got an aftermarket Garmin in there but it’s out of date and the cost to update them now is not worth it. Plus it kept turning off so I just want to fit a new one. Discovery 3 XS 2008 Manual Zambezi Silver

Check my install videos a few topics down. I fitted a 10" and wired into the aux.
I tapped into the aux directly at the back of the main head unit. Also took power from there.

Thanks I have looked at your video it’s really helpful, one question I had was the RCA cables used did you cut off the female end and strip them to solder on or did you get them with only the male connectors Discovery 3 XS 2008 Manual Zambezi Silver

I bought a standard cable, chopped to right lenth, stripped and soldered.
Both negatives together, and L+ R+ to their respective wires.
Likewise, both negatives on the connector together. Pre-Production
