We’re supposed to be getting our sovereignty back too, I guess that’s lost in the post 🤷‍♂️

All sorts of things promised after Brexit: A Brexit ‘premium’ ( no sign of that in the 5 yr budget forecast yesterday) & removal of VAT on fuel for instance.

As with most fisheries at present our local Oyster farming industry is struggling to export. It’s one thing having control of our waters, but quite another if you don’t have a market to sell what you catch. I understand the government has pushed back further import/export controls that were due to come in in March because of issues.
Cheers

I have been trying to buy much more British seafood in the last few months. It's really quite difficult; to cap it all my Ocado delivery was missing the prawns which I had ordered.

Most local fishmongers/supermarkets have mostly overseas seafood, and I don't want to have to order £40 or mores worth of British fish every week for home delivery. Nor do I want to drive a 26 mile round trip to buy British seafood from the docks.

There must be some British fish available for home delivery in reasonable quantities & at reasonable prices.

Have you got a Morrisons local to you?
They do tend to have a decent selection of British produce including fish.

My order was sent April 19 via Fedex from UK to Finland, it has now travelled six weeks. Ordering from UK feels like a gamble nowadays.

Sadly its the same for us. Its a real lottery buying from Europe now and the costs have also increased dramatically. Mad

We used to import a lot from the UK.. proffesionally that is.. it almost stopped now...

there are two main factors who are frustrating the trade now.. (on both sides)

first the shipping company's.... ONLY DHL does a quick and straight forward job with import now.. 3 or 4 days between ordering anddelivery..

these shipping company's Fedex,TNT,DPD, UPS etc. etc. are SOOOO afraid that they have to pay the importduty's and taxes themselves, instead of the customer, that they are more holy than the pope"" as we say here... they check more than the customs themselves... delaying the shipment by weeks

asking high admin fee's, but do not respect EORI licences, etc. etc...

on the other hand we see that there are import duty's, high ones...

there is a trade deal, but that only covers UK and EU made parts/stuff.... so parts/stuff made outside the UK and EU, like Taiwan, china, turkey, USA, you name it...etc. under licence (like britpart and like wise company's some times do (a lot)) gets the high import fee..... on the whole order... even when only a small percentage of the shipmentis not UK/EU made, really it is not the governments and customs who are to blame now regarding delay's

traders do not seem to be keen or do not know what and how to made/supply the correct forms to apply low trade deal import duty's.... we see now how many parts are not made in the UK (and EU) and the effects... the UK goverment did forget to think about these effects when campaining for Brexit... in the end money does/will talk.. the rest is politics and brings nothing IMHO...just feelings based on emotions, feeded by carreer politicians..and papers

in the end no citizen does profit from Brexit... eitherway..

(to be clear i do not like every EU "rule"/ proposition either, just seeing the effect off Brexit on my business now, regarding where to buy and where not for now, hoping it will change somehow)
 Best regards
Harold

I have stuff stuck at customs at the moment. A couple of people have been helping with this and we thought all the paperwork was correct. If I understand correctly they now want to know how many m2 of ply was used in the manufacturing of the van racking.

everything........... if the productcode ((Arctic-TARIFF =material code) is incorrect....

so if the material code is equal to carpart made of plastic but it is carpart - wood... they must determain the correct code and duty %

what i said... paperwork needs to be 100% correct regarding product code's (Arctic-TARIFF) and country of origin of the production materials (wood)

Yeah, I think that is the problem with my packet right now. There are single bolts and nuts - someone is trying to figure out where they originally came from.

Detailed tracking shows 32 events in Belgium.

in my experience, it is the shipment company who does that, they say "customs" but do not mention that they are the deligate customs themselves... very afraid that they have to pay for something instead off you..
since the are not interested into you or me... but only in money... they take their time....

flying with poluding aeroplanes from city to city country to country hopping around...

experienced this scenario about a 30 times now....
