Pretty sure mine has the leather dash? I think all the HSE's I've had have had a leather dash (2011, 2014 and 2016), not sure what RSE is, it has the meridan sound system and not sure about mood lighting but i'd be shocked if those few things mean a £5k premium tbh!

RSE- Rear screen entertainment. Not standard on an HSE.
The extended leather package or whatever the official name is, is also not standard on the HSE. The HSE as standard, did not have the premium audio ( speakers on the rear pillars being the obvious visual clue).
Mood lighting consists of little lights set into the door cards and perhaps elsewhere.
The run out model Landmark is basically an HSE Luxury, with much more limited colour choices both interior and exterior and without the perforated leather steering wheel and the inability to add further specification as options. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Ah Ok, cheers, i'd be surprised if those few spec differences would add £5k from new though, let alone on a second hand valuation at 5 years old.

I think the biggest factor price wise will be between EU5 & EU6 engines, but 'specced up' run out models will always be in favour.
I had a hell of a job finding a replacement 2016 Landmark when my previous one was smashed up in March 2017. The D5 had been launched, some prospective buyers were looking at it and asking the dealer to find them a 2016 D4. After 5 days of solid searching, I ended up having to go up to Manchester to a non LR broker. I lost track of the times I phoned and was told the D4 I was enquiring about had been sold straightaway. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Depends how you define 'better'.
The D4 is better in many ways than the D5:
Better shaped load space
Better middle seats
Better rear seats
Better visibility
Better materials that are more wear resistant
Better rear
Better looking in general D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)
New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!) Sold
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
BAS FBH control

The WBAC on my 2016 HSE Lux with 23k miles came in at £31,245.
I have been tracking this price for some months now and it keeps ticking up by £1k every few months at this point. Fairly sure the demand (and prices) are continuously increasing. 2016 D4 HSE Lux

4. The very high loading height. My poor old collie would never be able to get up there now, not even with his ramp. He even now struggles with the Fatty and the load height there is around 4" lower.
Can I ask how high the load height actually is on a D5 please?
Thanks,

Well, I just had my 2016 D4 with 25K miles valued by WBAC at £33,530, quite a pleasant surprise. Gone 2016 Landmark D4

I’ve not had an option to measure that in a while. I can tell you what it is in the Fatty...
Standard ‘low’ setting (there’s no “extra low” setting)) is between 31 1/2” and 32”. The last time I checked on a ‘5, the absolute ‘lowest possible’ height (using the button inside the boot as well), brought the back on the D5 down to a level where it could match the D4’s load height IN ITS STANDARD RUNNING HEIGHT. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!

Hi all had my D4 from new in 2015 .......... I have had some issues with it but all fixed under extended warranty..... mine has now clocked 74k ...... I have around another 2 years of extended warranty protection........ so my view was keep it - it is smooth quiet and powerful + I can get 40mpg on a run at around 67mph not bad! I think I will keep it as long as feasibly possible - as I tow a caravan. To me it looks very like the new defender LWB which is about 70k! .... one day an EV may tempt me - but battery life and towing are not compatible at the moment...but it will come. The D4 engine is complex and sensitive....but god knows what the Euro 6 engines are like....one of the garage mechanics told me that they run on knife-edge..... I think Jaguar Landrover are very slow in their EV approach. Hybrids do not interest me they are the worst of both worlds in terms of complexity and weight. MY 2015 Se tec SDV6 auto
Extras added:
Electronic diff
Meridian 17 speaker audio
Cool cubby box
Full size spare
Tow bar
Surround Cameras
Black rear tints
Cosmic grey interior panels

Dont personally think EV and towing will ever be bed fellows . Hydrogen will make it feasible.
Just been through the D4-D5 process and decided D4 was the way to go . I have many farming friends who went D5 after 4 and all regretted it ! even with the issues they had with 4s

I moved a couple of years ago from a 2012 HSE LR4 to a 4.4 v8 RRS 2016 Auto Bio and I am just about to swap back to the 2016 LR4.
That says it all for me.
