Having also had several D5 courtesy cars, I think awful is a bit strong. They are just not what you expect from the replacement for our beloved D4.
It’s not something I would buy, even if I could afford it.
Discovery Sport, they are quite close to awful. Obviously based upon first generation. Not current version. As I have only experienced 2017 to 2019 versions. Really not for me.
Then yesterday I had a ride in a 2021 RRS. Nice enough, but very disappointing that it gave me dreadful back ache. So that is off the list of replacement cars if I ever change the D4.
Looks like my VW van is the future for now?Discovery commercial tdv6 auto 2013

Freelander 2 I6 very sadly gone

Hi @ chugga90
Must confess had a different experience, rode in an older 2011 RRS 5 x litre and found it very comfortable , plus my god they shift , alas don’t know if it had a supercharger , if I remember correctly had the later 8 x speed , certainly wouldn’t mind having one after the D3
Does seem abit of a dilemma in what to get after owning a D3/4 , see many are happy with the Volvo XC90
Many thks
