[For Sale] Jaguar S-Type 2.7 TDV6 on 55 plate
Ad purchased as selling on behalf of a friend: 210625-678
A friend of mine has just got a new (to him) vehicle which means his 55 plate 2.7 TDV6 Jaguar S-Type is surplus to his requirements. He's owned it for over 7 years, been regularly serviced during his ownership (not sure about it's early life) and it's covered 170k miles. It's driveable, roadworthy, has a current MOT until end of December and is taxed until end of September (I know this can't be transferred).
It appears friend forgot to mention that there's an ABS fault. I've spoken to the mechanic who looks after the vehicle and he says he thinks it's the ABS module. Price reduced accordingly.
Is any member interested in this vehicle? Vehicle is located near Winchester.
Some pics of interior and exterior may get some interest.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Sorry NoDosh,
I just assumed that forum members would only be interested in the engine . I'll see what I can do but it won't be until next week. I can say it's in fairly good nick inside and out.
A cheap spare engine with similar mileage to all the ones that let go so spectacularly. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Just change the mainbearings and big-ends +oil pump and it will be fine for another 100k
Bearings are not very expensive…. And is an easy job, since you need to change the ladderframe/sump anyway to be fitted in a LR..
In a jag the normally have an easyer life regarding the dead weight they have to move everytime…
Yes i would prefer a lower mileage one too, but if it is in good nick now in the jag… can be an option imho.
At the side line, with the wallet of another, it is easy to have better ideas, isn’t it?Best regards
Harold

"It's driveable, roadworthy, has a current MOT until end of December...."
Thinking of it as a 'daily' on temporary basis as SWMBO job moving 45 miles or so away and this would serve as a cheap option to do the the journey for three months to get a 'bonus' before she leaves them ( that they are being....).
Has a good, all 'A' road, dual carriageway and motorway journey and would rack up around 5.5k miles in that period. Had S type diesel as company cars and can think of worse ways to travel.
As previously said some pics would help.......

Astonbuilder,
I'm due to see the owner tomorrow. I'll get some pics inside & out.
I just assumed (wrongly) that the forum would only be interested in the engine. I know he's had some work on the EPB and gear selector done recently and it sits on 4 relatively new tyres. I'll check on paperwork, take photos and report back.
