Scott #55,
Does that count as having insurance refused?

I would think not..it’s just they are not inviting renewal.. they are not refusing Scott, that would have to be as a result of a detrimental action by him, I.e continual accidents or using fraudulent details etc..

I'll check anyway. Don't want to give the insurers any cause for refusing a claim.

Spoke to JK - their underwriters (Covea Insurance) have decided to stop insuring Landies. As it's a change in their policies, I don't need to declare it.
Obviously, anyone else experiencing this issue needs to satisfy themselves that they don't need to declare it, rather than relying on the word of someone on an internet forum....

Wow! Have just received my renewal and it's gone up from £600 to £900 with Direct Line on my Volvo XC90 T8. No justification given.
Thought I would compare online at the cost of going back to a Discovery 4 '65 plate, and now looking at around £1k, which is also around 50% more than last time I insured a LR a year or so ago.
58. Richmond, Surrey. Social only. £250 excess. 1 named driver.
Was just about to do some research as to why but think you have answered the question.
Are LRD4 65 plates on the easy to nick list?

Oh, insurance has shot up again!
£354 last year, which was £100 up on the previous year, £460 this year. Everything is the same. No accidents, nothing changed. Its policy I keep renewing and not claiming on.
I tried a few comparison sites, but! I was getting quoted £500 cheapest, some insurance companies like Direct Line don’t want to know.
It can only be down to the fact they don’t like Discos.

Who did you end up going with?
I insure two vehicles in my name, with me the only driver on both - the D3, and a BMW420d - currently both on separate policies. One is coming up to renewal next month - I was going to look at finding a way to bring them together onto one policy (the logic being that I can only ever be driving one of them at any given time, so surely it must be cheaper than having two entirely separate policies), but given what premiums seem to be doing this year it looks like that may not be the case after all.
The way that the motor insurance sector has us over a barrel really gets on my nerves. They know we have no option but to buy their product, and despite what they say I'm convinced that there's a degree of price-fixing going on to make sure the premiums remain at an artificially inflated level.

Spent quite a long time on the phone to APlan Thatcham, giving them loads of info, inside leg measurements etc.
Promised a call back later or the following day. Nothing.
I'm guessing they couldn't get a decent price either.

Although my wife doesn't actually drive my large (to her) cars, it's cheaper to have her on the policy than not!
Work that one out.

Hit me now a second time.. it’s clear that late JLR products now have a bit of an issue… Wife’s 2015 Evoque just come up for renewal.. last year £390.. this year £711…
This is with 20+ NCB, over 55, living in Kent.. tried Confused and most coming up at over £1000…
Will have to try NFU Mutual again who took on the SVR but were the only ones interested..
