How to jack up the LR4

I have seen many articles and videos on how to jack up the LR4 but none seem to do it the way the local tyre shop does.
They set the suspension to access height, LOCK it there and then simply jack under the control arm or chassis. This way the wheel does not extend on the suspension so you don't have to jack it much.

Why not?
thanks

No reason why not. If you jack on the chassis, even in access mode the wheels will drop though?

If I'm taking one wheel off, I usually jack under the arm, with a piece of 4x2 on top of the jack.

Ah! I thought the lock in access mode literally locked the suspension in position. I always jack under the arm and uses a metal spigot to ensure the jack stays in position in the hole in the arm

I always do it like that, but they may have a low roof beam Laughing
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

from recall when in access the suspension drops down on to the chocks and cant go any further..so a jack under the arm should be ok...other wheels could drop..
