Good morning Apple CarPlay all fitted
Just one issue to sort out and that’s the permanent live I have it connected to the cigarette lighter socket however when I lock the car that power goes off and the system shuts down and loses all memory so need to locate another live somewhere

try swapping the red and yellow wires around.

THat's why they have them on bullet connectors, to allow you to do that, because of the memory loss problem.

That may cause the radio to come on when you unlock the car?? Try it

If you don’t want that, plug both red and yellow android wires into the double yellow socket

Ok this is starting to annoy me now no matter how I connect the yellow and red wires it still loses its memory

On the aftermarket loom it had a red wire that needs to be connected to a permanent live but even with that connected it makes no difference
Any tips please

The red landrover wire (which then goes to yellow )
Needs to be connected to the yellow android wire.

Unless you blown a fuse ?

What happens if you put both red and yellow android wires into the double yellow (that ends up at the old radio connector)

Does the radio stay on all the time ? (Even when locked)

Yes it stays on

Also when I turn off the unit it starts up again also I just realised the wire I have connected to the cigarette lighter isn’t permanent live as that goes off after locking the car so need to find another perm live

Well you either have both wires connected to the double yellow connector and manual turn it on and off
Or
Use cigar lighter and have it shutting off.

What ever suits you best.
Sadly I think that’s the only choice you have on aftermarket.
