Thanks Ruben and Pete

Hopefully I can get the proper windscreen, I don't mind driving around for a couple of months with a crack in it (on the passenger side).

In terms of the relay, see photo, R5 is missing so I was assuming I would need it. It's on order, should turn up in post in next couple of days. I'm not sure what NZ law is in terms of fogs and high beam, but on my wife's car the fog lights tun off when on high beam (therefore fogs only operate on low beam) I can have a look in the CCF with my IID BT tool.

I finally got the windscreen replaced today after 3 months. First screen got broken in transit to the repair shop, the next screen only just arrived in NZ due to covid related shipping delays.

I've fitted the rain sensor, auto dimming rear view mirror, reprogrammed the CCF. All works well. With the lights on auto they automatically came on as I drove into the garage at home.

2 weekends ago I removed the front bumper, cut out the templates with my Dremel and fitted my new bumper fog lamps. Installed the wiring loom, plugged in. All works well.

Very pleased with the results. Mihi mo to awhina to Ruben - also thanks to the others who contributed.

One question - with the auto headlights, is it ok to leave permanently switched on to auto with the car locked, or should you switch off after driving the car?

cheers
Blake

Auto only functions with ignition on. So you can leave in auto

Thanks Pete

By the way, you were right, no need for the relay for the fogs, there are no contactor below the plastic in the relay base in the fuse box, relay just sits there flopping around. Just a North American thing the fog lights switching off when on high beam. Not a requirement in NZ.

leave it in AUTO mode and forget it!
.. unless for some reason you want them permanently On, or off.

For example, on some type of road, even in full sun, I like to always have them on... so I put ON, my mechanic, when I enter his garage, the first thing he does is put it in OFF
