Assume its not a disaster if auxiliary drive belt falls off? |
|
SDV6 & something that the auxiliary drive belts runs around is making strange whirring noises which increase/decrease with the engine revs. Had a quick glance and can't work out what it is so will book into local indy to sort but the question is, if whirring component fails and the auxiliary belt drops off, nothing disastrous happens does it? Assume steering become heavy, air con stops and alternator stops charging, but one can drive a few miles home without issue. Just planning ahead in case it fails before Indy can book it in.
Many thanks.

The coolant pump will also stop working. It's always cheaper to fix something before it fails than after.

That would be brilliant and I'm around all day Tuesday. Should add, I haven't a clue how to do this myself. Will message you.
